Fun fact, that isn't exclusive to just TTRPG systems and what have you, it applies to virtually everything out there.
Books, video games, TTRPGs, fuck- YouTube channels and streams.
Word of mouth is king, and it means *so fuckin' much* to the person that created whatever you're talking about.
Princess Donut is royalty and must be recognized as such.
Ready Player One is the bad version of it. It's just shoehorned RPG / game mechanics into a story.
I'll be so honest, Dungeon Crawler Carl is one of the better examples of LitRPG I've seen.
It's not just fantasy or sci-fi with RPG mechanics crowbar'd into it, it all makes sense, and feels... I think I'd call it "intentionally unnatural". And it lends so well to the setting and books.
I've been absolutely ANNIHILATING Dungeon Crawler Carl and boy lemme tell you-
I've been getting some killer inspiration from the books, especially from the small details mentioned at yimes.
Will probably have some nods to DCC in my next TTRPG campaign.
Can attest as someone who lived with Lilith for several years and also as Agonyβs current girlfriend that any of the rumours mentioned are nonsense. Lilith had mine and Agony and Phobiaβs back through some really shitty times and will always remain a very dear friend even now iβve left the country-
Was around for all of this and will always vouch for the kindness and mutual caring I have seen from both Lilith and Agony, both for each other and others. It's disappointing, though sadly not surprising, to see weird parasocial speculations once again spread about them. Exhausting and pathetic.
It's cool how as soon as you leave Twitter you don't really hear about Elon Musk very much. Like here on Bluesky you still have to hear about a lot of bad people and bad things don't get me wrong but it's cool to not hear that one awful man's every single moist thought
That's a horrifying thought. Imagine coming into a bathroom and finding an acid-worn skeleton.
"THERE'S SOMETHING ON THE WING!"
Question for the GMs, writers, and worldbuilding folks out there;
What kinds of pests do folks have to deal with in your setting?
Rats, pigeons, Republicans, the standard disease-carrying nuisances? Or are there other more unique ones?
#TTRPG
It turns out that given enough time and panicking zookeepers, animals will break out of their enclosures. This includes the things that are not in fact animals.
Giant insects, magical beasts, there's even rumors of a man-eating demon out there.
The bugs are more pressing though. Bad for farmers.
The city flies above the ocean 90% of the time, so to them it just makes sense for seabirds to land there. And they are everywhere.
So is their shit.
And then there's the problem of the Old Danos zoo...
To a giant rat wandering around, a person is just another creature. And unless they have the recognizable dangerous traits (claws, sharp teeth, big scales, etc) they aren't about to just roll over.
Giant rats are a big problem, and they can, will, and have killed people in New Danos.
With my Tales of the Valiant game being something of a soft reboot, I've had to think of stuff like this, and considering that the main city was isolated for just under two thousand years and only recently saw beings return, I came to a decision-
Most pests? Don't give a *fuck* about people.

ooooh i LOVE his suit!
Full body portrait of a man with very long pointy ears, and both his skin and hair are split right down the middle in opposite hues: very dark green-ish skin and white hair in one half, and dark hair and grey-ish white skin. His suit shares that dychotomy, with a traditional white suit on his dark half, and a black suit with an embroidered shawl on his white half.
My PF2e OC Omen, dressed for a wedding in a less-dramatic modern? AU. He doesn't enjoy social gatherings and it shows but ofc he wouldn't miss @surrial.bsky.social's Sibylle wedding!

illustration of Adia, a young black woman with short pink hair and a melancholy expression. she is wearing a black crop top, olive colored pants, and a loose, pale pink baggy overshirt with orchid print on it.
I forgot to post this when I finished it last month, another DreameScape NPC. This is Adia π She is important to one of my player's backstories, and is going to be an important character moving forward :) #dreamescape #ttrpgart #glitterhearts #ocsky #npcart
That's a brilliant idea actually
Currently it's a lot of hoops to jump through. Mostly because of insurance bullshit.
-to recover off some of the shit a player character does.
Stamina? Some of the physical activities PCs do is beyond just strenuous, its exhausting. Lay on the floor and do nothing exhausting.
Actual wounds? No fuckin' way.
Hell even mentally you'd be spent after seeing a dragon or some shit.
Real talk, I think more games and settings (looking at you DnD, Pathfinder, and other similar games) need to create diegetic reasons for full HP restoration in X amounts of hours.
Because you be frank, even if your TTRPG defines HP as an ambiguous combo of Stuffβ’, eight hours isnt enough-
Complete blockage of pain is a double edged sword, one that most people don't recognize
Question for the GMs, writers, and worldbuilding folks out there;
I've been dealing with some pretty unpleasant leg and ankle pain for the last fuck-if-I-know-how-long amount of time, so-
What pain relief options exist in your setting? Chronic pain or otherwise?
