Huge hpal changes!! I hope 11.1.5 brings some more major playstyle changes but for now I’m very happy with the buffs (especially for m+). I think our dps will be fairly middle of the pack but our healing in keys is gonna be insanely good this season

Yeah first day is always rough on servers. Definitely get the frustration. Things seem to be relatively smooth now though
Check out the items names, the flavor text, the trinket design, the music, the voice lines, the story, the raid animations and encounter designs… the dedication to maximize our immersion in Undermine is truly incredible. If you’re on the fence about coming back to the game, do it.
This has to be the single most creative, artistic, funny and immersive patch in wows history. You can legitimately feel how much passion these devs put into this, it’s really beautiful to see. Just look around at all the small details in the new zone / raid, it’s insane.

At this point I don’t even care about this season, just please get a fix before season 2 launches, this is absurd
There’s a ton of fixes that can be done but there has been 0 action and 0 communication, as well as 0 long term solutions. I’ve waited a long time to say something as I had some reassurance that action would be taken
If they continue to black list people will continue to find new buffs and exploits to bring into competitive play. White listing buffs would fix this, or just clear all buffs on key start and increase the starter timer to allow time for people to buff.
Now it’s just stacked full of exploiters which has killed off a ton of competitive drive from many prominent key pushers.
Blizz needs to start white listing buffs instead of black listing when keys start.
Blizz has not only been silent on this, but also hasn’t even implemented a fix for season 2. A huge part of what made m+ so fun and popular at the higher end was pushing to be the top players in the world via the leaderboards.
It’s crazy that we’re ending season 1 with the m+ leaderboards full of exploiters. Of the top 100 players on raider io this season, over 50% of them exploited to get their score using follower dungeon/story mode raid/world content buffs.
Those are the big 3 for now, very concerned for hpal going into next patch but we’ll see what happens. Thanks for reading if you got this far, lmk your thoughts!
Imo just scrap infusion and holy light, give FoL a 20s cooldown and make it a very strong instant cast heal that gets CDR for each holy power spent. Something like that would help give hpal direction and free up a ton of talents to redesign and give hpal some truly engaging melee healer gameplay.
As for the spec tree, I think it’s time we shift course on infusion and holy light / FoL. Creating a viable caster Hpal just doesn’t work with modern wow/hpal design and putting too many talents are being used for HL/FoL. We need a clear direction for the spec and to stop splintering our tree.
3. The class talent tree is a disaster and the spec talent tree is full of weak / awkward talents. The biggest issue with the class tree is basically 80% of our t3 talents are completely useless and half of our t1/t2 talents are as well. Full feedback on class tree here: tinyurl.com/23ajwmpa
Right now spending can feel extremely punishing on Hpal because it takes so many gcds to build our holy power back and in that time we do almost no healing since holy shock is still so weak on its own. My proposed solution for this is to bring back Holy Infusion.
got removed which slowed down the spec a lot and made it feel significantly worse. Part of what makes Ret so fun is how quickly you build and spend holy power so while you still have to min max it to perform well, you don’t get too punished for spending.

2. Slow holy power building compared to other paladin specs. Both other paladin specs have talents that increase holy power generation on builders but the one Hpal had in Beta (crusader strike generated 2 holy power)
Beacon of Virtue which continues to get nerfed because of raid. A quick solution would be to treat it like atonement and buff Beacon healing in 5 man content. Another solution would be to redesign light of dawns functionality to be 360 degrees around the paladin instead of a cone,
1. Healing power disparity between m+ and raid. Showcased heavily this season, you saw hpal dominate raid with the ACLS meta but struggle in keys. A lot of this comes from the fact that light of dawn is not a reliable heal in M+ and so most of our AoE healing power comes from
place where it will be mid at best in both raid & m+ while still leaving much to be wanting from a playstyle perspective. Here are the top 3 playstyle and throughput issues we’re still facing and how I think they could be resolved:
Holy Paladin is set to launch in an underwhelming state once again in season 2. This will be the 4th season in a row where it feels miserable to play in mid-high range M+. Its playstyle seems to be headed in a better direction with the switch to Herald regular wings meta but it’s still in a weird
