Hope for diabetes: CRISPR-edited cells pump out insulin in a person β and evade immune detection
Edits create cells that donβt trigger an immune response, allowing implant recipient to forego immune-suppressing drugs.
Researchers implanted CRISPR-edited pancreas cells into a person with type-1 diabetes.
The cells produced insulin for months
There was no need for immune-dampening drugs, due to gene edits that allowed the cells to evade detection by the recipientβs immune system.

A woman discovered the greenhouse effect 168 years ago. Her male colleagues refused to let her present her findings. Then they erased her from history. This is the story of Eunice Newton Foote, the scientist who predicted climate change before anyone believed it was possible.

Sunrise, this morning.
The gift of awareness.
That space between thoughts, where each breath whispers 'good morning', is the most beautiful experience.
It's you. All of you. Beyond your thoughts.
May we all find ourselves. And, each other.
