Thanks! We've been at this for like six years. And we still have a companion volume that funded as a stretch goal to finish (it's much smaller).

I deeply agree that I want more people from the RPG world working with mainstream publishers.
I don't want to frame it as something people can just decide to to.
Working with a large corporation is always a situation where the artist has very little control over what happens.
Read this whole 𧡠James has on RE: getting TTRPG games & books through the pipeline of a Big 5 publisher, & note how scale is unbelievably different:
On DriveThruRPG, Adamantine is over 5K of a title sold.
A major KS TTRPG success can be <10K backers.
13,700 copies sold is a failure to S&S.
I have exported the final PDF for the Tribes in the Dark #TTRPG. Just needs some final looksies to make sure it's good.
I misread this as Oscar Isaac and was like, "Woah".
This article from the spring of 2024 gives a good rundown of the Paydari Front & their intentions. 3 & end/
Would people be interested in a desktop application to designs TTRPGs with support for master pages, custom fonts and text styles, baseline grids, and what not. But, a thing more "accessible" than Affinity.
A layout software with stronger opinions essentially.
Go Play NW is my favorite games convention! It's an awesome community of some of the coolest and kindest indie ttrpg designers and enthusiasts. If you're in the PNW you should consider going and getting an early ticket to make sure it happens!

I mean, I'm tech-proficient, I can write code (to a degree). I probably could set up a pretty reliable containment grid.
I do get a little dopamine hit when I respond to threads, posts, etc., about how to prevent breaking immersion or players from metagaming in #TTRPGs by responding, "Don't care, I never worry about it." It's a little trollish, but not untrue; I really don't care.
The 2A folks have been awfully quiet, given how much they rail against guvmint oppreshun. It's almost like they believe things are happening to the people they want things to happen to. Kind of curious, don't you think?
Probably a bit hard to let people flash bang and tear gas and point live rounds in civilians faces and then tell them oops no more, but sure.
That's not exactly the situation in this case, other than the person in question not being willing to name the artist, which is understandable given the situation.
Balboa Island, too. Balboa Island used to be a massive gear farm for Orange County Ingress players. I'm not particularly proud of the fact that I took so many loops around that island.
This is calling out for being turned into some kind of spaceship design. I'm not the only one that can see it, right?
It's all good... It's like the em dash canard. "That looks like genAI because it has em dashes!" They tend not to think about why genAI spits out text with em dashes in the first place.
This includes accusing them of "backpedaling" or that they were "caught" and that's the only reason they made a change or correction. Show some fucking grace and take people as acting in good faith until it becomes apparent that they aren't.
So, I'm all for calling out that art or writing in the #TTRPG space looks like it was generated by AI.
What I'm not all for? Going for a creator's jugular over a piece that turns out to be AI-generated, particularly one that they did not have a hand in creating, when it's obvious they did not know.
Jesus fuck, I thought the $200 million was for a whole series of ads or something. That better have been the best cared-for horse in history. Like, at the very least, it should have been given all the apples and carrots it wanted, and an armed bodyguard in case Noem decided to shoot it.
It's basically just FitD.
I take accusations of AI seriously, and I will not accept AI work from freelancers.
I require expert opinion from people I know, but in this case they agreed.
As a result, this cover art is being replaced. It may take a bit for the cover to change on @drivethrurpg.com but the new file is uploaded.
Isometric design of a city made of blocks, books, dice, and other toys. The mascot Go peeks out, and there are potions, dice, a miniature train, and a waving tentacle. An arrow points to the design on a black t-shirt. "Membership Drive Shirt designed by Sovanny Vorn, *mockup only, final art may differ."
Following up on last weekβs sticker preview, this week we have a T-shirt preview! Feast your eyes on the charming geometry that Sovanny is cooking up!

Just for perspective on this, I found this pic on Facebook (where it was noted it was found on eBay). Japanese edition Traveller art was ON POINT.
Yeah, these are just some of the things in that piece that Don't Make Sense.
Have the courts seriously pulled the "think about his future" shit and not thrown jail time at him because he *might* go to college?
