Sadly, Carolyn I have to agree.
Here in the UK we have Maggie's Centres to support cancer patients.
I would love to see the same support for heart patients.
My heart goes out to you.

Nine lessons about womenβs heart disease that future doctors will learn in med school
These nine @CWHHA teaching modules offer a one-stop Master Class package to any academic tasked with teaching future doctors and nurses about women and heart disease.
"Physicians now in practice have likely received little if any specific med school training in womenβs health aside from reproductive health issues. As Emergency physician Dr. Alyson McGregor reminds her colleagues:
βWomen are NOT just men with boobs & tubes.β

When I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. I didn't know then that pregnancy complications like this are a strong link to increased future heart disease risk. This study suggests that a simple blood test might identify over 90% of preterm high risk women ...

Must women bring an advocate along so doctors will believe us?
Three books, three authors, one big question: What is it about female heart patients that makes so many male doctors treat them differently than male patients?
3 books, 3 bold messages about the problem with male-centric medicine:
1. Sex Matters: How Male-Centric Medicine Endangers Womenβs Health
2. The Exquisite Machine: the New Science of the Heart

And yet they are obsessed with attacking two therapies that have prevented more deaths than any other medical interventions in history β statins and vaccines

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!
People would leave the pram etc with a neighbour or relative, alternatively on order to be delivered after the baby was born.
I only had a sling, Moses basket, baby clothes, bedding and nappies in the house, before my eldest was born 30 years ago.

Back in the day, when I had just qualified as a Midwife in the mid 80's, it was considered bad luck to bring a cot or pram into the house before the baby was born.
It was considered to be tempting fate.
I don't get baby showers for the same reason.

Many words used by healthcare professionals can be judgmental, somehow blaming patients for their illness or pain.
My personal dislike as someone who lives with vasospastic angina.
'abnormal pain perception'
'low pain threshold'
My pain belongs to me.
