On the other hand, in public school we would have had $, a car, a tv, less stress… still i can now go months without tv.

My mum gave up everything she had, to put us thru school.

She shouldn’t have had to. A quality and safe public education should be available to all.

Parents see it as investing in education. I don’t know what my life would be like in public ed. I’ve taught in the public system, & prefer doing so, but as a weird autistic kid with Marfan’s stature, my private school system gave me a sanctuary to find safety in a place that valued intellect & skill

normal ppl? radical liberals in the US are centre right conservatives elsewhere in the world. Cos most ppl don’t wish cruelty on others just cos they’re different in some way.

Until you guys stop wanting vengeance and start wanting justice… well that’s how the US got where it is… every other country can say paedophile = bad except πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Had a neighbour tell me that β€˜it’s muslims that do all the killing’ & when I pointed out extreme Muslim faith were similar 2 extreme of any org incl Christian faith, then started listing all the massacre death…
Hoping they realise extreme of anything is bad incl Pauline.. they’re a good young adult

The issue is that doing the right thing is such a rarity by GOP these days, that even just one doing the bare minimum seems like a miracle of integrity & courage. Sigh… How low the bar has fallen in the US…

Yeah, the one I had the other day had just enough of everything to make it look real and just not enough content to make you believe they actually believed in anything.

That’s what’s gets me sometimes, when you can’t see where someone’s πŸ’“ is.

Ha ha - subscriptions? In this economy? As a poor person, I’m always amused at people having subscriptions. It’s the one thing that none of us need & can easily be culled off the budget & these days it’s not even embarrassing 2 not have seen a show, not like not having a πŸ“Ί at home in my youth.

I had one the other day that I just couldn’t tell if it was legit or not - so I thought, if I need to employ a crack team of security tech to tell if you’re real or secretly a nazi or something, i think that’s a pass on the immediate follow back…

08.02.2026 05:18 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Really? The main reason for losing was the easily misled American public. Exit polls showed ppl voted on the economy cos they blamed Biden - that’s in spite of all the evidence showing the effect of pandemic & πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ excellent recovery under Biden/Harris.

Fix poorly educated πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ & they’ll spot this.

3. Demonstrated ability to either primary them or convince primary voters of 1 & 2.

That will scare yr centre right dems, cos their voters support left wing policies, they just r affected by propaganda they hear.

Or u can just keep screaming defund ICE completely like GOP wants. Just saying…

26.01.2026 11:01 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Only the few dems on the left will be for this. There aren’t many. For the left of centre dems you need more than a headline. you need the plan. Then you have a group to work with.

For Centrist dems u need 3 things: 1. Facts, 2. Evidence of those facts in reality

at least an investigation…

25.01.2026 08:40 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

that’s because Americans think they are exceptional, instead of what they are which is human.

An act of a human is an act of humanity. A lot of Americans are struggling to meet that bar at the moment, let alone exceptionalism.

Instead it looks like yr Prez is forming Axis of Exceptionally Evil…

25.01.2026 08:37 πŸ‘ 17 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

It’s not failing cos of 7 dems - as if that would’ve stopped Trump… It’s 1 in a litany of failures.. a final few lives now v mils of lives lost already.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ aren’t exceptional, just human, capable of everything humans r, just like rest 🌏 & with humility, πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ might return 2 norm of acts of humanity!

We, like most developed countries have about 5% far right Maga types. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ has 25-30%. We moved past overt gerrymandering phase in the 1980-90s.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ …

I worry bout where πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ goes from here with 1/3 pop. still wanting this? We still believe in DEI here cos we know it includes most all at some time. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ …

Ranked Choice Voting! With a few safeguards for vulnerable communities (not that they’ve any now), it would be a real game changer for the US and is probably the only way the US truly becomes a representative democracy. Even the conservatives where I live are left of most democrats.

25.01.2026 08:25 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Fact that just a handful did cross is a huge testament 2 how broadly unpopular it was.

Sadly this is where US is. History shows its sad trek.

I do thank πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 4 yr sudden export of academics, scientists, medics, etc. We’ll take care of them as we try not 2 take same path 😊 We have r own dark daysπŸ₯²

Democrats β‰  left
Instead it is a broad coalition of people who acknowledge that the world operates according to reality.
Democrats are more likely to follow more socially, and these days more fiscally responsible policies, but expecting πŸ’― would be odd in πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ system.

24.01.2026 14:02 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Cos they don’t want to change their political views. They just want to acknowledge that up is up and down is down, that facts are facts etc.

23.01.2026 20:32 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I totally agree btw, those 7 shouldn’t have voted as they did, but I totally understand why they did

23.01.2026 20:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

But where are reality based republicans meant to go? Democrats have ended up as the only option for anyone believing in facts, truth etc.

It’s why the GOP is so scared of ranked choice voting. Let ppl stand under their true colours

23.01.2026 20:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

what shines out is his integrity, not loyalty. His words are like kryptonite to the GOP, so they keep talking over him to avoid the sting.

23.01.2026 10:24 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

The GOP goes from far right (libertarian/Maga to centrist). While centre right dems cross over, centrist GOP & some libertarians should get a backbone and vote with integrity with dems.

They should be acting with integrity regardless of party. Doing best for πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
