Just finished making a dot-inlay chisel, and tested it out. Works pretty damn well! 😁

Did some multi-tasking while grading today. Got some extra shibuichi for inlay now. 😁

THEN I got some rusted antique blades, restored one, made a handle, wrapped it, and made a scabbard. 😂

Yeah! I got a couple modern katana I bought about a year and a half ago. But then I learned how to build them because some of their handles were of poor quality.

Then, true to form, I learned how to sharpen and polish them in the traditional way.

I've been doing a lot of restoration work on antique Japanese swords and sword fittings lately, and I'm actually getting pretty good at it.

My supervisor at our work start-up meeting this morning:
"Hey B Dawg, last week I was having dinner downtown and saw like 50 huge animals walking down High Street. Was that you?"

Lately I've been on a Paella kick. I haven't used any seafood for it, but I've done chicken and chorizo. Definitely untraditional, but still quite good.

See, I love this, because you just highlighted something that I didn't really consider before -- that's absolutely critical as well and has a massive impact helping people. 🙂

And it helps me understand my own biases better too. My PhD will be in IR theory, so I tend to "see it like a state." 😅

Not gross at all! It's an awesome field, and important of study. It's a major part of foreign policy, statecraft, grand strategy, and (at times) even law enforcement.
