What a successful day we had at the Scarborough Expo! There was lots of interest in our line, especially this year's Forget-Me-Not Dementia Trains, starting on Wednesday 15th April. Our friends from Yorkshire Coast CRP shared their stand with us and we made many new contacts and useful connections.

The new 07.24 service from Whitby got off to a 'sizzling' start today as passengers enjoyed complimentary bacon butties and hot drinks along the way! Esk Valley Community Rail Partnership are delighted with today's passenger numbers and look forward to seeing its popularity continue to grow.

The new East Coast Timetable begins on 14th December and, starting Monday 15th December, includes a new early morning service direct to Newcastle. This will depart from Whitby at 07.24, with a return through service from Newcastle at 16.40, arriving back into Whitby for 19.34.

Glaisdale Primary School children created this wonderful painting in memory of well known local volunteer and Esk Valley Railway Station Adopter, Roger Norris. The painting was unveiled last Friday by his wife, Jean, and local MP Alison Hume.
Last Friday, in preparation of the new early morning train service starting on 15 December, EVRDC volunteers met at Glaisdale Station to hand out Safety leaflets to local school children. Whistle, the Northern Rail Mascot was on hand with muffins and warm drinks for everyone too!
New Service Alert ⏰ The NEW early morning 7:24am is coming! The service will depart from Whitby, calling along the Esk Valley to Middlesbrough and then on to Newcastle. Get a £2 ticket between 15th-24th December. Book now and save!

A new plan for Whitby Survey
NYC would like to hear your views about the town plan for Whitby.
The results from this survey will help them understand how residents and visitors feel about the town and what they would like to see improved.

The weather outside may look frightful, but on Wednesday's Forget-Me-Not Train, it will be warm and delightful.
And, as it's Whitby's Chocolate Festival, we'll be handing out chocolates on the train too!
We have been informed that Whitby Station Booking Office is now closed until April 2026. Please be sure to buy your Car Park tickets from the machine and your Train tickets from the Northern Rail ticket machine on the platform. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
