Adem Bona is also listed as questionable to play tomorrow with back soreness.
Last night, Dominick Barlow was the small-ball center and Andre Drummond did not play.

After gloating last night about being ahead on the Cam Payne story, feels right to admit that I filed an Oubre feature like two hours ago that was going to publish tomorrow morning.
Karma π
As if the Sixers didnβt already have enough injuries, Kelly Oubre Jr. has a sprained ligament in his left elbow and will miss at least two weeks, the team just announced.
Comes on the heels of his best game of the season, totaling 30 points and 12 rebounds in last nightβs win over Memphis.
One of the first stories I wrote for The Inquirer back in 2021 was about Matt Cordβs process recording for NBA2K. It was nerdy and interesting and everything I love about doing this job.
Happy trails, sir!

A big voice is leaving the Sixers.
Matt Cord, the teamβs longtime public address announcer, announced he is retiring at the end of this season.
"Iβm going to just say this, man, Joel did it efficiently, and he did it in three quarters," Kelly Oubre said of Embiid's 70-point performance in 2024.
Sometimes you jinx a player by writing about them and sometimes you were just ahead of the curve π
Now 16 first-half points on 4-of-4 from deep for Payne. Snapping out of his shooting rut in a big way, and the Sixers need it.
Two quick three-pointers for Cam Payne, who was upset about his shooting efficiency last night and is a guy the Sixers will need more from during Maxeyβs absence.
The latest on Tyrese Maxey, who joins the list of injured Sixers at a critical time.

Cameron Payne has been a fan of motivational self-talk since he was a kid. Itβs how he taps into his role as an energy-giver.
The Sixers desperately need that β and more production β from Payne (and others) with Tyrese Maxey (and others) sidelined.

Cam Payne is among the players being forced into larger roles while the Sixers are short-handed and trying to stay afloat in the East.
Without Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers need energy and more from the veteran point guard, @ginamizell.bsky.social writes.

Yβall could probably see on TV, but Maxey is wearing a splint on his pinkie finger.
Nick Nurse on where the Sixers are at βspirituallyβ after tonightβs shorthanded loss: βI think weβre fine. I think the guys have fought really hard the last couple games, and they hung in there tonight when they probably could have took a knockout blow.β
Cavs 87, Sixers 66 at the end of the third.
Halftime: Cavs 56, Sixers 44. Looked like this was going to get out of hand before the Sixers clawed back a tad. Grimes with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Payne with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists while filling in as starting point guard.
March Quentin Grimes is here (14 points, 4 rebounds), down to sharing the floor with Edwards and Bona as part of a shorthanded roster. He's repeatedly talked about being in "attack mode" no matter who is on the floor, which the Sixers will need him to continue when the (presumably) get healthier.
Annnnnd suddenly it's a 10-point Cavs lead at the 9:21 mark of the second.
This is @adamaaronson.bsky.social's bit but he sadly is not in The Land to accept an on-the-spot deal.
Now MarJon Beauchamp is in the game. Would just like to throw out there that I would happily accept a 10-day contract.
Two more buckets for Justin Edwards, who has knocked down some early shots when in the rotation recently.
Sixers will start the second with Martin-Edwards-Terry-Oubre (with two fouls)-Drummond. Cannot imagine this group has worked together in practice...ever?
Cavs 26, Sixers 20 at the end of the first, after Tyson buries a three-pointer at the buzzer. Valiant early effort by the shorthanded Sixers, though Cleveland pushed ahead when both teams went to their bench. Grimes has eight points and played the entire period.
Dalen Terry minutes incoming, too.
First-quarter minutes for two-way guard Tyrese Martin (over Kyle Lowry).
James Harden hit 29,000 career points in this first quarter.
Trendon Watford is the Sixers' first sub, with Oubre picking up two fouls. He was really aggressive in the paint against the Hawks, and the Sixers could use his playmaking/ballhandling while so thin at guard.
Welp, that is not Cam Payne.
(Same number, but yeesh.)
Cam Payne is officially starting for the Sixers, alongside Grimes, Oubre, Barlow and Bona.
