This image highlights the boat-tail structure in production for the core stage of NASAβs Space Launch System rocket for Artemis II, the first crewed mission of NASAβs Artemis program at NASAβs Michoud Assembly Facility. The boat-tail joins with the engine section to comprise the lowest portion of the core stage. The structure is designed to protect the bottom end of the core stage and the RS-25 engines. Together with its four RS-25 engines, the rocketβs massive 212-foot-tall core stage β the largest stage NASA has ever built β and its twin solid rocket boosters will produce 8.8 million pounds of thrust to send NASAβs Orion spacecraft, astronauts and supplies beyond Earthβs orbit to the Moon and, ultimately, Mars. Offering more payload mass, volume capability and energy to speed missions through space, the SLS rocket, along with NASAβs Gateway in lunar orbit, the Human Landing System, and Orion spacecraft, is part of NASAβs backbone for deep space exploration and the Artemis lunar program. No other rocket is capable of carrying astronauts in Orion around the Moon in a single mission. Photographed on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Image credit: NASA/Michael DeMocker

βDuring the past year, it has become unsafe for our guests to visit the country,β Marc Abrahams told The Associated Press. βWe cannot in good conscience ask the new winners, or the international journalists who cover the event, to travel to the US this year.β

A Star Wars "B Wing" first seen in the movie Star Wars Return of the Jedi. Pictured against a blue background of stars and asteroids. A second ship is in tha background in the top right.
B-Wings (again, I make no apologies) I love these ships ever since they made their appearence in ROTJ. #Lightwave3d render of @howieeday.bsky.social 's model.

On International Women's Day (IWD), celebrating all female space explorers, including Helen Sharman and her bold, gutsy, and record breaking journey to the Mir Space Station in May 1991. We were lucky enough to talk to Helen in the July and September issues of "Odyssey" last year; a real privilege.

Ha! I found this on a Russian forum...
Slop.
Wasn't someone managing a blocklist to keep this theft based garbage out of our feeds?
Doing a side-by-side comparison, I'm convinced that this Mars Orbital Laser Altimetry is the basis for the globe even so far as its coloring, and this map gives a proper scale.

Peter Elsonβs stunning paintings for Kim Stanley Robinsonβs ππ’π³π΄ trilogy depict a planet transformed by terraforming. But in the march issue of ππ₯πΊπ΄π΄π¦πΊ, we ask whether it is planet Earth that is now most in need of terraforming.
Hm.

For a blue tick.
NK-33 left, NK-39 right
NK-33, and NK-39 rocket engines.
NK-33 was for the N1, (with the NK-43 high altitude version).
The NK-39 was developed for the advanced N-1F, stage 3 (Block V). It could be restarted.
OK, but be aware it's not a proper scale, just arbitrary numbers.
