The real problem here is the comms.
This is a mild feature, it's functionally no different than a google search. The real issue is the team who's working on it is internally incentivised to make a song and dance about it. Just add it to the monthly system update blog post, you fkn numpties.

I reflected on why I love Marathon so much.
It's Bungie returning to their competitive roots while somehow mixing in a compelling world and ARPG-like character building. In short it's the game I didn't know I needed.

I continue to see misinformation regarding Project Helix and new #Xbox hardware.
- Yes, it will play games developed on the current XDK just like Xbox does now. It isn't emulation. It's a hypervisor session, just like the current Series hardware.

This is a big play against Steam as the defacto PC home of gaming, if only by positioning - but if the mode actually runs games better too, then that also a win for Xbox - because you can guarantee they'll front-and-center "Xbox store" in this mode too.
Renaming FSE (full screen experience) to "Xbox Mode" is a *huge* branding/positioning opportunity.
Walk into your local store and look at the PCs for sale. They all have "Windows" on them, right? Now imagine by Xmas 2026 they also all have "comes with Xbox mode" on them. Every single one.
Some very intriguing info coming out at GDC. The details and potential here are very impressive, particularly for those who have always wanted a more powerful plug N play console.
Execution is everything though so we'll see how it shapes up in reality. And naturally, I don't expect it to be cheap.

1/ Remember, GDC is a conference focused on developers. We shouldn't expect some shocking reveal from #Xbox, but rather clarifications on how development will work for future hardware & Windows.

Every Xbox since the Xbox One has run multiple operating systems simultaneously more or less. A console is bespoke hardware with a collection of specific hardware configurations.
