I think it's fair to be wary of Christian's edit being a fallen angel highlighted solely for who he is and not how he does, but I honestly don't think the odds of that are too high? I feel like as monumental a season as they want 50 to be, I wouldn't be shocked if our winner gets a similarly huge edit, and Christian's been given a lot of strategic agency and sway, a lot of highlighted relationships, a lot of unnecessary personal moments... It's definitely almost too perfect, but for a character as beloved as he is, I could easily see them going for a big coronation like this if he wins. Gen stays in 2nd, I'm a liiiittle more worried about her vs Aubry now that Aubry has legs, but I do think her stronger edit especially in the premiere is a good sign. I don't adore that she doesn't have a still-alive #1 like a lot of my other top contenders, but I'm willing to argue her #21 in Aubry is a stand-in for that type of important winner relationship. I think the bag scene as is was good for her, I'm mixed on whether Aubry getting the idol later on is good or bad, and admittedly I don't think the swap bodes too well for her right now, but I'm sticking with her anyways. for funsies. enrichment. Kalo has been a Rough tribe, and I'm willing to give a 2nd chance to some of the people there if their stories kick off at the swap, but it's unfortunately impossible to ignore that Jonathan's been actively present in both throwaway episodes for them, with some really great content. Duck metaphor, a #1 in coach, positive yet growth-focused reminders of 42 aplenty... it's there :( Similarly, I still really think there's something to Mike. His premiere was still strong imo, and though he got a quiet episode, Kalo 1.0 Hardly Matters and he still managed to nab a confessional, aaand Jeff's challenge commentary reminding us that he's ripped. I'm gonna really have my eyes on him at the swap, if he gets proper focus there it'd genuinely cement him as a frontrunner to me

Ozzy and Cirie I'm veeeery torn between, they're a very highlighted duo, their differences compliment each other well, and they've both been very focal in Cila both episodes. What gives Ozzy a slight edge to me is that he got a very nice cooldown without fully disappearing, which is great after his Huge premiere, and I also think his Oscar playstyle and the reasons he outlined for sticking to Cirie just seem like more palpable hooks than Cirie herself currently has. She had a phenomenal episode tonight with so much more agency, but I still think her premiere was just... off, and though she's successfully iced out both players who caught on to her, I don't entirely see her /story/ right now beyond Ozzy, & having gotten off of that couch. Again. Q is moderately high vis, narrational, in a solid position, and the figurehead of the Vatu alliance. I'm slightly worried about nobody ever really commenting on /him/, but I think him carrying Kyle's torch alongside Gen is a pretty good sign. With how mor he is I couuuuld see him getting randomly booted sometime in the midgame, but it's pretty common as of late for winners to shift gears into more strategic content come merge, and I don't see any red flags yet that tell me he won't make it there. Rick... Cila as a whole generally had his back, but I don't think the edit cared to pick his side otherwise? He definitely came out looking better than Joe, and I think him getting more of his Idol Content :) he talked up in the premiere & from his eoe stint is... good. But he's most definitely second fiddle to Christian right now. If Christian falls he couuuld swoop in and inherit his position, but I don't know if I particularly see it.

#Survivor 50 Edgic thread! Contenders aren't too shaken up, aside from some pretty strong content from Jonathan, Cirie, and Aubry, and a worrisome drop in visibility from Steph. Eager to see how everyone fares in the swap, especially Vatu 2.0 with the DvG trio reunited.

Coach 9th is honestly probably too high, but he's been given enough positivity and grace to keep him out of ottn both episodes, and he's been pretty consistent(ly evil? alol) and visible. He's a biiit trainwrecky, but that's just Coach, and I feel like him at least clearly being Important is enough to keep him afloat right now. Aubry I'm torn on, I do think her premiere was rough to /solely/ be that Gen interaction, but clearly there IS going to be some pay-off at some point about it. I think this episode was a pretty incredible recovery as well, she got so much more fanfare than Ozzy did with his BEBIdol and it really stuck out to me. She's 100% got an uphill battle, but she's clearly going to put up a fight, and I think even if her current game standing is shaky, her distinct underdoggery is enough to put her in my top 10. Stephenie had a really great E1 and was.. barely visible here. Echoing chi that the swap can kind of excuse this though. Colby had an alright E1 and a quieter, alright E2. He's visible at least, but I don't see much story here outside of Rizo. He at least doesn't seem to have any major red flags atm, but this is definitely where my contenders start to really drop off. Rizo's story is at the very least distinct and personalized, but I also just don't think it's very strong alol <3 His two scenes this episode being "I've really changed their perception of me >:)" to everyone going "yeah Rizo sucks" feel pretty damning. He's this high thanks to his legend quotes, but I could pretty easily see him going out very soon too. Emily is... kind of nothing rn? She's sooort of a third wheel in the nerd herd but even that's hardly touched on. All we really see from her both episodes is that she'd prefer an Ozzy boot, and she gets it neither time. Love her but she'd definitely be one of the purple girls if not for Cila going to both tribals. Dee and Joe are baaarely holding on through simply Having Thread, the rest are realistically far too invisible atp
