You are confusing the course with the weather
You are confusing the course with the weather
And no, the 17th green is not an “island.” 🙄
Talking head on Golf Channel says a major course “should test every club in the bag.” When was the last time any course achieved that when confronted with elite golfers armed with frying pans and turbo-charged balls? 🙄
Haven’t watched all day by any means but what I have seen of the Golf Channel from the Players has been obsessed with stats. That’s the American way of course. But it misses one vital point: at its best, golf is an art, not a science 🤷♂️
😃
Last word on whether or not the Players should be a major…..real majors don’t ban players 🤷♂️
Have never understood why the aim is to get all 18 greens running at the same speed. Not sure that’s actually possible anyway 🤷♂️
Another thought on majors….ideally they should be run by organisations whose main priority is the game, not their bottom line. Just saying.
FYI….The Players would be a major if we started over tomorrow with a blank page. It is the biggest event on the biggest tour. The other three would be the Open, the U.S. Open and a World Match Play that travelled. So there 😃
Moving interview there with Gary Woodland. In my (limited) experience one of the nicest people in pro golf. Root for him 👍
Sigh….reading story on prospect of John Daly II winning in Puerto Rico. There’s a list of fathers and sons who have won at the “highest level.” But no sign of Percy and Peter Alliss 🙄🤷♂️
Sigh…just reading that Lucas Herbert shot a “flawless” 65 in Hong Kong. Which is impossible of course 🙄
“Dear Diary,
Super excited to say that I’ll be serving my Clacton constituents today by flying to Mar-a-Lago to meet Donald Trump and to undermine the UK government. God I love being a patriot!”
Always interesting to see how quickly pga tour courses become unplayable 🙄
Sigh. In other words, fix the ball, cut the rough and get back to setting-up
courses the way they were supposed to be set-up. 🙄
You sound like my wife 😃
My goodness. Watching Liverpool is a tedious business……
Some people love long, thick rough. And every commentator on the pga tour is apparently part of that group. Not one has even hinted at owning a contrary view while watching the field hacking and gouging round Bay Hill. They are nothing more than pr men 🙄
Apart from staggering imbecility this exhibits, I'm going to guess that none of the content has been cleared for use with its original creators.
U.S. forces likely bombed an Iranian elementary school on Feb. 28 during an operation targeting a nearby military base, a New York Times analysis suggests. It is the deadliest known episode of civilian casualties since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran — and no side has yet taken responsibility.
Just watched a few minutes of golf from Bay Hill. A summary: few drives, many wedges and a few putts. Almost zero variety zzzzzzz
This is brilliant and encapsulates perfectly my “old buffer” feelings about the game I watch these days….
If these people are found to be working for a foreign power, Keir Starmer will be personally responsible. Whereas when a senior Reform colleague is jailed for ten years for taking bribes from Russia, that is nothing to do with me.
Recommended response from 10 Downing Street: “this is not Barack Obama we are dealing with.” 🙄
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
The BBC weather lady says Musselburgh is in “the far north and east of Scotland.” I mean really 🤷♂️
Smotherman was “a long way back” after his tee-shot at the 14th. Then he hit an 8-iron to the green. Lowry, of course, hit a wedge. Anyone else bored by this sort of scenario? 🤷♂️
Broke down and watched a bit of the pga tour golf. Mistake. Just the usual collection of drive-wedge holes, with the commentators hailing these challenging approaches when they finish inside 20 feet 🙄
