In almost 2 years game time, I've made it to character 4! The last one is alive, just had different goals.

Why did I only get 400 words written last night, you ask?
Well, I had a cat draped over me. Trooper demanded cuddles.
The Queen looks on from her box seat. She delights in the early morning birds as she selects the tastiest looking one. ✨️
Winter is here, and Trooper understood the assignment: hibernation ✨️

I'm not writing daily like I wanted but I am still plugging away at it. ✨️

Start of school really has left me exhausted (in the best way) so I've been sticking pretty close to my 10 minute goal each day.
But we got 20 min and 427 words down tonight. Slow and steady...
Started this morning rather excited to start chapter three, and to get so much done in my classroom. I did get stuff done there!
But I really want to sleep, so 99 words to added to the count.
Deep breaths, me. Even God rested.

After a long fulfilling day of classroom set up, I had zero energy to write my book.
But I set a timer for 10 minutes and 261 words later, Chapter 2 is redrafted. Onto chapter 3...
Slow and steady. Slow and steady.
Giving audiobooks a chance again so I can still read while I finish a few more plans.
I'm extremely picky about narration, but I'm loving whoever is doing The Lies of Locke Lamora. A+ narration.

Had a long day of necessary appointments and plans, but finished it all off with 1.6K words on HCP tonight.
It feels like it's going so slow, trying to work in details carefully, keep the prose up to par, but I'm just gonna keep telling myself...slow and steady wins the race.
Trying to improve at a subjective craft without a mentor who helps you grow into your own voice and style sometimes feels like an impossible task.
But I put 832 words on paper tonight. They felt like good words, and they are another step to making this book what it can be.
It's about time to set up a writing schedule so I can knock out a new draft during the upcoming school year.
I admit I haven't written a word all month, and I'm feeling like quite the imposter. So I hope this schedule helps. ✨️

With the Lord's favor, we might get this done by the end of June yet.

Sometimes, I have to remind myself that "reading" doesn't just have to be dense 5lb thick books. Books come in all shapes, sizes, and styles.
It's just as valid to consume 15 Spider-Man comics.
Bc reading is about fun and empathy, not page count. 🖤
