No intention of ditching my DSLR, certainly not now I'm starting to get good with it. But there's so much value in a tangible, physical thing, unapologetic and rife with the flaws we once moved away from

Zoom control! Depth of field! Accurate, rich colours! Photos easily transferred onto a PC and shared with anyone anywhere! I'd come so far from the washed-out, crappy snaps of a Polaroid instant or a Boots disposable camera.

But now that's all back in fashion again. And honestly this time I get it

I lived through the societal transition from film and instant cameras to digital ones. It was exciting to go from crappy disposable cameras to a digital! It had zoom and a screen! Then it was exciting again to upgrade that to one where the photos were actually good. And then again later to a dSLR!

Sounds like a very Mil-wacky dream

I do this every time but I feel like things have only gotten worse :/

Getting increasingly tempted tbh

I did look into qobuz but it was missing too any artists/tracks I'd got on Spotify. Tidal at least had near-perfect crossover

This is my major issue with it tbh, a lot else I could get over

I've given up listening to anything other than my downloaded tracks in the car

The higher quality music is nice but only really relevant for home, where I can only sorta tell the difference in my cheap speakers

The app cacks itself if you dip out of signal while travelling. Obv only so much you can do, but Spotify would stream ahead enough to smooth over most interruptions. I just had to restart my phone because Tidal refused to reconnect under any circumstance

I am actually like 🤏 this close to ditching Tidal. It's worse than Spotify in pretty much every way except morally, and even that's debatable with the amount of AI music on there

Ye I got to mess around with my roomie's 30 and 85 (115 equivalent with cropped sensor), and I did get some good shots with the 85 but it was such a pain to take photos from the other side of the road. Immediately went out after and got my own 30 tho
