“Septima VII”
Beginning in the Roman Era, and then revived by the Victorians, newborns were often given a name that indicated their place in the birth order. I envisioned these Sacred Icons to represent the “what-if” element of an ancient culture that could’ve worshiped these divine feminine icons.
Planets: Terra – 24″ x 11.25″ x 1″
Part of the Astromantic Series, celebrating the feminine divine throughout the Zodiac and beyond.
These are Iron Oxide transfers onto metallic acrylic on Poplar boards.
RACK & CHAINS
A “rack” is $10,000 in the form of $100 dollar bills stacked and banded by a bank. In this experimental piece I wanted to blend the detailed feminine form with my fascination of currency and esoteric alignments.
Judith of Hearts – part of the Queens of Suit series is named after the original Queen of Hearts playing card from turn of the century French decks. With a golden playing “card” floating on a sea of purple velvet and framed in gold this will demand audience on you wall… Vive le Reine!
