Well, I'm rooting for you!
I've seen you post messages like these over the years and I'm curious: have you ever followed through on them and have they ever worked?
Seriously!! Hope you get more motivated in the new year!
Thing typically done in intro to ethics classes. The worry people have tends to be that we don't want to over moralize, but we can all maintain that while thinking that some moral facts do exist. Source: Phil PhD Candidate specializing in ethics.
This is not the out of times. There are some contradictions people accidentally take up. For instance, while most people avow something like 'to each their own' morally, we all agree that female genital mutilation and the holocaust are, in fact, morally wrong. Getting clear on these is the first
I was told Sharon Street says she can't help but write 60 page papers.
George Reyes once told me, after asking him why it's not obvious that you can always add +1 to a number, something like: you should think before speaking otherwise you will keep saying stupud things.
Analytic philosophers would never take those continental philosophers seriously. Deconstructionism? Might kill us.
In any case, I think whatever debate there is is necessarily wrapped up in this notion and getting clear on whether these specific changes are permissible depends on whether they violate US norms of sacredness about the white house
Sweet. So, I'm not opposed to changes in general. But some changes defy norms of sacredness. Without committing to what those, I submit there are secular versions of these. The most obvious example is the way conservatives talk about the constitution. There is a kind of reverence there.
It seems your opposition is to the secular notion of sacred, is that right?
This is a large part of why I'm leaving professional philosophy. It's a bunch of people who know full well the effects of echo chambers and propaganda and on those grounds think they're too special for Twitter to radicalize them. Somehow, they're all suddenly anti-trans for no particular reason.
That's so rad!! I'm an ethicist, but I have just enough training in epistemology and philosophy of science to be concerned about claims starting with 'science says'. If you're interested to learn more, let me know and I'll try to pin down some materials or someone who knows better.
It's an odd choice for the Penguins to make their team identity throwing 3 goal leads in the third.
Becoming an expert is certainly one route to being able to see good evidence! More experts on trans science that regularly try to make it more transparent would be a valuable resource!
I mention this because there are more barriers to updating beliefs than the evidence existing as part of a well researched scientific program, even for people that are open to having their beliefs updated.
It might be worth noting that it can be hard to identify good evidence as non-experts. It's totally possible you could be exposed to it and not realize it, or be exposed to bad evidence which you think is good evidence but not realize it.
Unexpected side effect of being a home owner?
Fair enough! You're like my fav of all the trans bsky celebrities so I was worried some shenanigans happened like after the Kirk shooting. Glad you're back, hope the break was nice :)
Maybe they're all tryhards pushing T4 on their paladins?
The hammer to shield combo where both zip around and everything dies is so satisfying. Hit like 40 and I'm excited to see what the end game builds are like. Oh and the doom lasers slap.

Yeah, I picked the [M] ending because I was so swept away by her journey and the characters in the paintings and oof I felt some guilt immediately.
Where did she go? Was she banned?
If there is I'm stoked to read your play by play analysis
Oh, yeah, it totally is SFF! I definitely agree with you on escaping this world! I've been obsessed with contemporary queer romance novels because I want to pretend myself into a world where we're all happy and only one guy is weird and that guy gets universally eviscerated for being a bigot :P
Hi! So, I think the book is best approached with no knowledge except that it's wonderful. That is what I was told when it was recommended to me and it was perfect! If you would like, I can say a bit more! But my heart says that you should go for it and get lost in the ethereal beauty of it :)
At what stage do you put it in? I'm assuming after the vegetables are cooked but before the broth and tomatoes are added so it acts like a vinegar reduction?
