FWIW, I use the TextMate keybindings in zed. Which IIRC, Atom (and Sublime) mostly inherited. That might help.
Also due props to @joel.drapper.me who was really helpful (at RubyConf San Diego) to me in my transition. He even shared his settings file.
I was the same about Zed switching too, but from TextMate.
It took me a minute to acclimate, but now I’m all in… @zed.dev for everything!
I encourage you to give it serious try as your only editor for like a month. I bet you’ll make the switch after that. 😎

(I want to explore repurposing older Macs as little home servers that do one thing each. It seems silly to pay… anything for them, because a new Macbook Neo or Mac Mini is ~$600)

Individually? Yes. I have a VW eGolf. Great in town commuter. Always plugged in at home. No meaningful change to my power bill.

A more accurate framing is a developer brand new to a team/project with no historical context or experience *in this project*. And only a short term memory
Because frankly, some LLM/agent generated code is well above "junior" level
