So, this Unbound/Boundless fiasco. I was going to be polite about it, but after this morning’s email: no

Unbound/Boundless owes me $15k+ on a book that in its first royalty reporting cycle had sold around 3k copies of its 5k copy print run

of which I have not seen a single penny. They also haven’t even reimbursed me for postage costs I incurred mailing out the arcs in the US at their request

I discovered yesterday, in a mass email sent at 3am, that I will not be receiving the roughly £40,000 that my publisher Unbound/Boundless owes me for pre-order sales of The Paradox Paradox. The payment for five years of work, gone.

Today Mr. Katje took me to De Dutch Pannekoek House, which I hadn't had in over 15 years. It was amazing. 😍

I did a cost analysis of the two b/c I know IS is so irritating to deal with and D2D gave much smaller royalties. Same trim size, page count, SRP book nets me $4.56 on IS and $1.35 on D2D. If you can eat the cost, or raise your prices to compensate, might be worth less stress. (I can't.)

Never ceases to amaze me how many editors think negging authors online is going to get them clients.
