Five hundred souls!
I've never found any evidence to indicate it was anything but Moral Panic fwiw
Ground Kontrol is all ages from noon to 5pm, QuarterWorld is all ages 1pm-7pm on Sat/Sun. Outside of Portland proper, Special When Lit in King City is all ages, and Next Level in Hillsboro is MASSIVE and all ages.
The Dune pinball machine makes you do the Gom Jabbar
These would look great next to the Big Bowl Of Condoms at Shorty's in Seattle.

We made a Pinball Map zine containing the location of the week articles we wrote.
We've put it at a few spots in Portland, OR. Like at Sit Tite, Star Tropics, and Wedgehead so far. Usually found on the change machine.
they make the worm in dune get bigger
aw dangit
They worked on Big Game w/ Doug Watson who is still active and may know more? pinside.com/pinball/mach...
they're both bangers imo
Doctor says "Get the grisliest, nastiest gas station food. That should pick you right up." Patient bursts into tears and says "but doctor, I *am* Panera."
I'm gonna guess Bally Time Zone
Actually no, definitely a Bally EM (score reels on the backglass), so 1972~76. Either one of the Bally two-player EMs or a four-player with the lower score reels covered up. Looks like part of the two exposed reels are covered (only showing 3 digits?)
dimensions and coin door say a Bally EM or early solid state (1972-1983) with a wrap and alternate backglass, without seeing the playfield that's all I got.
One of my favorites! Art is by Gerry Simkus who unfortunately only did a handful of machines over a couple years, couldn't find anything else about them after that. pinside.com/pinball/mach...
fair enough, especially on EMs that deviate far enough away from the standard italian bottom that muscle memory actively works against you (I'm lookin at you, baby flippers that back up to a midlane drain)
Nice - I went with PinballY without trying X since it was open source but they use the same configuration/backend file structure from what I understand. Either one is better than Popper imo.
the engine is apparently designed for "optimal" physics at 60fps, but if you don't have a problem you don't have a problem :) I cap at 60 in game and use framegen for 120+ on systems that can handle that. Apparently specific tables have some issues at higher framerates www.reddit.com/r/PinballFX3...
Pinup Popper to PinballY?
this kicks ass
It's not skilled vs unskilled, just, different sets of skills - small example, Northwest Pinball Champs 2025, Escher Leskoff was top qualifying in both Open and Classics; Raymond Davidson and Jack Slovacek were top 5 in both. www.neverdrains.com/nwpc2025/pla...
