This is already out of date. The last 10 months of policy in the US have totally reversed the American goals. Also, we see with the new elections in Germany and in Japan. These are not going to be the new goals. The newest administrations have just poured more fuel on the fire.

I hope that you mean not the people getting their hospital stays paid for, but all of those with "insurance" that have hospitals to go to. Reducing medicaid means more hospital closures, which multiplies the hurt! No person ever gets a medicaid dime, it all goes to the hospitals!

Why does the NYT always get me so upset. In the article today about the Senate and the "bill" they wrote : "Medicaid, the health care program forΒ theΒ poor". This is the wrong framing, it should be "Medicaid, the program keeping rural hospitals open" The poor don't get the money!
It is actually worse the substack - you wrote "conspiracy to carry undocumented migrants from Texas" while this is the acceptable term that I agree with, the evil of the actual indictment is that is uses "al*ns" at least 40 times, and NEVER migrants. Neither can be proved : Just use undoc. people.
If Kilmar Abrego Garcia is being charged with 'transporting al**ns,' then shouldn't Greg Abbott face the same charge? Does this mean we now have to check everyone's immigration status when we're driving? Also, why does the indictment use the word "al**ns, this is not acceptable
The people losing coverage is only half of the story. Without this money, either the hospitals will close, leaving people with coverage no doctors. OR they will stay open but increase charges, and thus insurance costs go up. However sad it is for those who lose coverage, the tragedy is the rest.
As was written, but EVERYBODY who supports democracy should sign up and NOT COME. A counter protest should be organized!
