This was murder. I’ve seen cases where police shootings were justified because a driver posed an immediate threat to officers or bystanders, but this was clearly not one of those situations.
I hope this is a wake-up call to Americans that we will not tolerate secret police ICE thugs and fascists.

Trump is deporting people involved in pro-Palestine protests even if they have green cards (permanent legal residents).
Seems like boycotting the vote for Kamala is working out really well huh? Dearborn Michigan? Still awfully quiet about the guy who wants to turn Palestine into a parking lot.
There is a wave of anger building across the entire country. People are already becoming fed up with Trump and Musk. These algorithms can try to hide it all they want, but they won’t be able to avoid reality for long.
Just adding to this.
My job as a contractor is secure for now, but that could change at any time. I’ve been exploring other opportunities (I seriously miss LA), but while my specialized focus in foreign policy and national security might show competence, it doesn’t exactly translate into a clear career transition.
Seems like the most prudent thing is to wait out this administration (if it ever ends). Really tough time for people who have spent their whole lives focused on making a difference in global affairs, only to have the apparatus to help pulled out from under them.
Not that anyone asked, but just sharing some insight on how things are going in DC. I know a few people who lost their jobs thanks to DOGE, and they as well as many others are thinking about moving elsewhere/back home. The job market here was already flooded—now it’s completely overwhelmed.
Republicans, I don’t care how pro-Ukraine you are in the media. Spare us the sob story when you are the reason we are where we are.
Yeah I’m done taking the high road. Our obsession with perception has only weakened us as a party
A few friends that lost their homes in Altadena/Pasadena are now having to deal with flooding in the fire damaged areas. They just can’t catch a break.
Imminent tax cuts totaling $4 trillion for the wealthy, tariffs on imports to disproportionately tax the middle and lower classes, all while paying for some of it by destroying the government to cover costs. Thanks to people who continue to vote for their own demise. Such a damn shame.
Yeah… anyone else teetering at that level where you already have a ton of caffeine daily (~500+ mg) and it does nothing, but going any higher would just cause severe anxiety?
Surely it has nothing to do with constant unprecedented events and collective trauma.
Dear BlueSky, I have run out of original material so I have decided to just repost myself. Thank you.
January 2020 vibes
We need to shift our messaging from "Democrats SHOULD talk about..." to just SAYING IT ourselves (I'm guilty too). Don't lament the asymmetry in the media; we already know the media would destroy Biden if he blamed a plane crash on some amorphous framework like DEI. Instead, start making the case:
Decided to anonymize my account a bit. Obviously, nothing I say will be fully hidden from my employer (Cheeto Mussolini) but better safe than sorry.
At this point, Trump seems mostly like a figurehead for Project 2025, with the right-wing offering political and financial backing to boost his return to the Oval Office—in exchange for advancing their agenda and helping him avoid jail. Makes me wonder if he knows he’s being played like a fiddle.
It’d be nice if news networks continued the trend of cutting away from Trump, but this time just not air a single word he says.
➡️ January 20: FAA director fired
➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen

Making America Great Again!
Democrats are messaging like it's 1980. We need better messengers and a better message — and we need it now.

Anyone seen the checks and balances on the executive branch lately?
Wow. So it doesn’t take 4 years to do this? Shocking
Great interview. @aoc.bsky.social perfectly speaks to what I’ve felt since 2016: Dems must fight fire with fire. We can’t go from calling him a tyrant to shaking his hand on Inauguration Day out of respect for tradition without everything looking like one big performance. youtu.be/eeheoxWzf2o?...

A heads-up to new followers: I post about foreign policy, politics, sports, technology, and cats. If you’re expecting a consistent theme, you won’t find it here.
It’s remarkable how swiftly Republicans in Congress can unite to pass legislation targeting and vilifying immigrants, yet when hundreds of people are shot weekly by fellow American citizens, addressing that issue somehow becomes too complex for them.
NEW: The entire North Korean contingent of roughly 12,000 personnel currently in Kursk Oblast may be killed or wounded in action by mid-April 2025 should North Korean forces continue to suffer from their current high loss rate in the future. (1/3) isw.pub/UkrWar011625
