Just another day of blatant bigotry from a sitting member of Congress.

She wasn't attracted to the right by the romanticized aesthetic of
"traditional America" - big beautiful houses and bread-making and families with half a dozen children. Rather, she says, "I was in love with the frisson of transgression." The online right had begun to engage more explicitly with forbidden subjects: nativism, race science, and gender essentialism drawn from evolutionary psychology. "There was an element of Gnosticism to it

lol she admits it’s about race and gender and being elite

And still we don’t ask any better questions

Because we feel smart ? You still think it’s just “ leopard eating faces”

And not a system of spectacle and forgiveness that ultimately leaves the people she helped harmed erased

Right-Wing Attacks on James Talarico Are a Reminder That Christian Extremism Is Official Republican Policy The reaction to Talarico's Christian rhetoric demonstrates the ways in which far-right theology is about underwriting misogyny and racism.

“Howerton’s Christ wasn’t the stranger and outsider the Gospels show us dining with prostitutes and healing lepers. (. . .)Instead he occupies the place of a kind of white, patriarchal, crusading cowboy of the American West.” www.liberalcurrents.com/right-wing-a...

In the years since Andrew Cuomo was
Governor, our city has become less safe and less affordable, and it is my constituents who suffer the consequences. As Andrew Cuomo said, this is the direct result of the government failing to act with purpose, intelligence, and common sense. I am tired of seniors going hungry, children lacking sufficient after-school care, and parents wondering if they can still afford to live in the very neighborhoods they grew up in. These problems aren't complicated, and neither are the solutions. The only thing missing? A leader like Andrew Cuomo as our mayor-and that is why I strongly endorse his campaign.

Jimmy Dore and Professor Xieqin Jiang discuss if Jeffrey Epstein is still alive.

Jimmy Dore says Epstein is still alive, and quotes his co-host Kurt Metzger by saying that Mossad works for Epstein. Jiang says Epstein will never die because he'll reincarnate into another body.

One way to look at tonight's events: The Raiders spent $281.5M in free agency to build up their team... and just acquired one of the best pass-rushers of the last decade in Maxx Crosby.

Matthew Yglesias is poking fun at the White House finally realizing its policy is too unpopular to run on? The guy who spent all of 2025 and until circa February of 2026 arguing Democrats shouldn’t even talk about Trump’s immigration/deportation policy? That Matthew Yglesias?

For Mahmoud Khalll, this past year has been marked by profound hardship-and by profound courage.
A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child.
Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together.
Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.

The Safer Homes Act already has a veto-proof super-majority of sponsors, but its passage isn't currently likely. Why not?

Because Speaker Julie Menin, aligned with landlord interests, may prevent it from being put on the floor for a vote.

Prepare to follow @nycprogressives.bsky.social's lead here.

Between now and June 23, I'll say this often: we have little chance of taxing the rich this year, for Hochul isn't facing a primary.

The best thing we can do now is prioritize our primary races in the Assembly, where the Left is weaker than in the Senate. (For which races to plug into, see below ⬇️)

There's no messaging without organizing. Unless you have a task for message to do - bring people together to contest for power & take on billionaires poisoning us - you can't craft let alone evaluate message.
And there's no organizing without messaging. Directing action take words & images.

“Zohran Mamdani is the most prominent observant Muslim in American life. He has made his religious identity a central part of his political identity, and he has vowed to stop ‘biting his tongue’ in the face of Islamophobic attacks,” Reihan Salam, a Muslim who is the president of the conservative Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, wrote in an email.

“That gives him unique credibility and authority to speak out against the chauvinism, extremism, misogyny and racism that exists within Muslim communities and that has spilled over into violence again and again.”

why isn't the Muslim mayor taking this opportunity to talk about how all Muslims are bad?

“Pluralism is a lie”

That really is the consensus on the Right: It’s all a lie, no one actually wants it, it’s all just a conspiracy orchestrated by globalist elites, it destroys the nation.

It’s the one thing that unites all the factions on the MAGA right: A rabid disdain of pluralism.

Each @chactivist.bsky.social labor-strategy piece is a jewel, and this one's no exception.

Here, Chris argues that new unions should consider seeking first contracts that don't turn into all-or-nothing fights but rather help—

• Sustain their existence and
• Improve their power to scale.
