I just generally think the antidote to dooming and feelings of helplessness is getting involved in any way. It can be as a poll worker, doing ICE watch, running for local office, helping with mutual aid, whatever.

You can get so much accomplished in your town or city if you just get involved.

Thinking you’re going to get an apology and remorse from the people who voted for this is like thinking your narcissistic parent is going to apologize for your childhood. These people think not apologizing or acknowledging regret is a virtue. And additionally, a form of image control.

This epitomizes one of the biggest problems with the "new right," which is that many of them cannot distinguish between "cancel culture" and "having standards."
