“Warfighter” is such a goddamn funny word. It’s like if they called the experience of playing a game “gameplay”

Watching Angel for the first time and this editing is craaaaazy, man. The gulf between late 90s (Buffy) and Y2K (Angel) is WILD. youtu.be/uyfuCZmHZrQ?...
really excellent piece by @dreamcastaway.bsky.social
PLEASE WELCOME ME TO GDC, I WILL NEED IT
(I get there tomorrow!)
tragically I can only hear this in a John Oliver voice doing one of his trademark "jokes"
I just kept scrolling down being like "okay someone is gonna say this is fake" and there is literally one in 147 comments that points it out
Sally Rooney: "By standing in solidarity with Palestine, we are learning how to fight for life on earth"
it *seems* like vulnerable, weak, other enemy debuffs are super strong because you essentially get double value out of them, but curious to see what other strategies people figure out
playing my first Slay the Spire 2 co-op run and becoming Drift Compatible with my friend
If you were turned into a Resident Evil Requiem zombie, what activity would you be doing forever? @jacobgeller.com shares his depressing answer on the new episode of The MinnMax Show! youtu.be/9iH6YFQj_Uc
Having some of the most thoroughly redacted thoughts of my life.
love when they rolled in that x-ray tech guy and he's also the hottest man I've ever seen
this is, all else being equal, easily the funniest thing the director of inside out could have said
Slay the Spire 2
Stumbled across like 4 new completely overpowered-feeling Ironclad build possibilities, can't wait to get crushed over and over while attempting to use them
First run, babyyyy
I was sad he didn't stick with mewgenics but the runs were like 3 hours long
reading through @jacobgeller.com 's "how a game lives, vol 1" - thru the library's ebook collection - and im struck with how different the medium changes how the work feels!
i love jacob's video essays!! but being able to read it in text-form and digest it at my own pace,,,
when you read his afterword you will cry (maybe several times)
It started during the pandemic, March 11, 2020. It ended on May 9, 2024. I was already trying to learn Unity, but it was hard to find the spare time – freelance artist life is a twelve-hour, seven-day-a-week endeavour. When the lockdowns came, I tried to treat it like a long residency. At the time, I was working on a game about my job at Best Buy during the 2008 financial crisis. I’m not much of a 3D modeller, so I found someone online who had painstakingly recreated those periodspecific store layouts. I reached out over email in hopes of purchasing the models. “I’m looking to re-create my experience working in retail,” I wrote, “for an art project.” I added, “It was an important time in my life.” Silence. Two weeks later, I emailed him again, under a new email account. “Your assets are stunning,” I wrote, “I would love to use them to virtually showcase my upcoming products in a store context.” “Dear Jordan,” he responded, “this is exactly why I created these assets!!” We were in business.
It, too, is eclipsed by its afterword in the book by @remysiu.com. I am almost embarrassed that he's chosen to trust me with an essential text for understanding 1000xRESIST (and so much more)
On this editing pass I've decided "Nothing Ever Stops Existing" is the best thing I've written because it's the only essay that hasn't pissed me off while rereading it youtu.be/Wmi_6D6vwBQ?...
(Beartato and Reginald, in a museum, gaze upon the Mona Lisa) BEARTATO: There it is. The Mona Lisa. The most famous painting in history. REGINALD: Wow! What's it do? BEARTATO: It... what? REGINALD: Why's it famous? What's it do? (Beartato thinks.) BEARTATO: I don't know. REGINALD (to nearly museum employee): Excuse me! Sir? What's it do? EMPLOYEE: You're the first person to ask! Watch this! (The employee yanks a pull-string. Mona Lisa's eyes spin around and her mouth opens like a puppet) MONA LISA: Honk honk! Honk honk! (Everyone is delighted. This is true art.)

Maybe the model was operating on outdated data, maybe it was a complete hallucination, maybe it intentionally decided to kill a bunch of kids because that's how the US and its allies have been waging war for a while.
