Wot in conflagration
I strive for this as well. It feels unobtainable.
...Good call π
Github link on site is broken
Not understanding shit is a valid barrier but please note that world gen is now node based if that helps
Intellij is free for core features
Somewhere, one god wants you dead, and another keeps saving you. They vehemently disagree on this matter.
Solid takes all around π
I guess more structured TTRPGS, ones that lean more heavily on rules than vibes, could be run without an interest in game design. But even just a combat or puzzle encounter yearns for balance.
This is something I'll have to think about more- I think of house rules as almost inherent to TTRPGs, because each group wants something different.
I wonder if I believe you Have to care about game design to run a game. The Guide sets the world dynamics, even if they don't make the rules.
Homebrew and house rules are game design, and you should do them only if you like game design. You should never be required to do so, and you always have the potential to do bad game design, especially if you have never or only rarely played the game youβre trying to design for.
Personally π
Hi! Cool tool. Writing it down for later. Most likely use case for me is generating project files based on a user-provided project name.
Feedback: lowerCamelCase is something I've seen in code, but feels out of place for files. If I wanted camel case files I'd definitely look for UpperCamelCase.
Some combination of the two? What happens if you add and remove an item from the end of the list?
Nobody should use arrays as keys anyway π
This is a really interesting article for anyone who regularly suggests rewriting C codebases in Rust.
There's been Israeli protestors fighting against oppression of Palestinians this entire time, but you'd never know it in the US because it contradicts the narrative the social media companies prioritize, that antizionism is antisemitism. That's not open discussion. Resistance is valid.
Triggering or not doesn't enter into it; that language arose because people realized that TikTok specifically recognizes and deprioritizes certain words.
Say word -> less views
The oppression isn't in the language filtering, the oppression is in Gaza and Minneapolis. The filtering obscures it.
OP wants people to take serious issues seriously and thinks we should be deliberate about our word choice. You've said that change is inevitable and OP should chill out. Super different lines.
I'm not mad at you. I do think it's a shortsighted argument. Micro resistances matter.
Stuff does change over time, sure, language especially, but language choice still definitely matters.
If OP wants to draw a line at having that language leave the platform to protect the dignity of serious issues, be my guest. Fighting for a cause isn't wrong just because change is inevitable.
On TikTok, if you're trying to reach people and you use words like "kill" or "the genocide in Gaza," that are starkly deprioritized on the platform, your content will be unevenly distributed. That's enabling a genocide. That's oppression.
A scene without Longview featuring a cold pig in the middle of a frozen peak with two waterlogged leaves. The cold pig is visibly jagged and Z-fighting is visible on the waterlogged leaves.

Hi! I made a mod called Longview that implements reverse-Z in Minecraft, and it's as magical as I expected! Check it out and say goodbye to Z-fighting and jaggies from far away!

The inevitability of change isn't an argument against fighting oppression
As an atheist, based. Really one of the least cool plays by me. If I am reincarnated as a worm I will at least take the do-over and be the most devout worm.
I started with on one that turned out to be functional programming with a fake mustache and I'm not convinced I shouldn't lean into it
Polyanimalry
timers, bubbles increasing/decreasing etc.
So there's
1) mixin(s) to disable sprint hunger
2) mixin(s) to make sprinting drown
3)? Make drowning faster if sprint swimming?
This is totally my style of mod - change one feature and full send π
I'd decide between using the existing bubbles or making a new thing. Me, I'd choose the bubbles bc I've never touched the rendering stuff and custom bubbles aren't a good enough reason to start. Also it would be simpler to convince the code that sprinting peoppe cant breathe and let it handle the
The beginner step is, I'd look at how the breath is implemented in vanilla.
The harder part is doing the mixin to replicate that behavior while being as minimally invasive as possible.
Adding behavior (bubbles) is one thing. Removing behavior (disabling hunger thing) should be done with a scalpel.
Okay yeah. I have several thoughts but I don't know your modding experience level so hmu if you have specific questions. I could also tell you how I'd approach that and you can ask Q's based on that if that's appealing.
I sometimes wonder what I would do if I could relive my life knowing what I know now, and it always devolves into the reality of a boy genius situation.
It's easier playing off being inexplicably smart than reincarnated. You could pull a lot of leverage on the powers that be as a child prodigy.
