Follow the debate on my Genocide Bill live from 9am on YouTube here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=knMi...
I'd like to thank everyone who made a submission to this inquiry - who shared their lived experience and expert evidence.
From First Peoples on this land, to Palestine, West Papua, Xinjiang, Sri Lanka, Tibet, and all victims of genocide around the world, I stand with you.
It comes as no surprise that this bill was voted down by the major parties.
The rejection of the bill speaks to the colonial and genocidal interests of this government, with Labor and the Coalition protecting their political interests over international justice.
Today my Genocide Bill was debated and voted on in the Senate: www.instagram.com/p/DHpoALOxlwd/
The demand of the bill was simple: that perpetrators of genocide, war crimes, and other crimes against humanity, should be held accountable - whether in this country or overseas, whether past or present.
What is Laborβs position on jailing children and denying them bail? The Prime Minister says one thing, his Minister for Indigenous Australians says another.
Iβm calling for the federal government to take concrete action on bail by funding therapeutic bail support and supervision.
"the PM's explicit support of Victoria's policy surprised even Labor MPs who spoke to National Indigenous Times"
Yet another case of Albanese manhandling, cutting across and contradicting his ministers to chase cheap popularity.
Shame on Albanese.

He asked us to simply accept that the government's intentions behind the changes are good. He wouldn't give us any details about the changes or how they would work. All he had was empty talk. No wonder we are all very alarmed."

βCreative Australia now have a huge dilemma of their own making. They surely have little choice but to reinstate their chosen and worthy Venice Biennale artist. However an empty Australian Pavilion in 2026 might also be a powerful statement.β

Great democracy weβve got, ugh
If nuclear power plants are built, it will require us to switch off our solar panels. Try researching this before you rubbish it. And nuclear is NOT clean.
You call surplus nuclear energy 'clean energy' then I suggest its you on something. It's you who are deluded if you think nuclear energy is clean.
Australia doesn't need surplus nuclear energy that will require us to switch off our solar panels. Nor do we need your nuclear waste. So go flog your antiquated dangerous power source else where.
βNuclear reactors cannot be switched off, meaning they continue forcing power into the grid even when solar is literally producing free electricity for 4 million Australians,β said John Grimes CEO @SmartEnergyCouncil #SolarStopper #auspol @reneweconomy.com.au reneweconomy.com.au/biggest-lose...

βall jurisdictions for which we have data have seen a rise in COVID activity but only Tasmania and Victoria have seen a clear surge or wave.β
This. Having been through this with a conservation assessment for dingoes in Victoria, this yearβwhich I found highly unsatisfyingβthis rings absolutely true for me. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
