Hey Kid, it ain't that kind of empire.

An abstract image that shows a mountain range in the background and a wave of abstract reflecting glitches in the foreground. To the left and right are two orange stripes, framing the image.
midjourney v7 is here and while it seems to be a few steps behind chatgpt in terms of prompt understanding it still produces better aesthetics.
Here's an example of an initial experiment, replaying an old prompt.

Seems like a good place for a loop :)
Basically: It's very much grounded in science.
But: It's not as simple as many put it.
The Wikipedia article seems like a good starting point. There's a lot of research on the topic.
And here's one where I pushed the prompt a bit in the direction of landscape paintings.

And here's one where the colors are more opaque

Another one where the black takes a bit more space
In this series, I toyed around with textures resembling lacquer. It's still a bit close to what seems to be one of the dominant color schemes of midjourney V6.1 (orange/pink) but I'm already auite satisfied with the compositions and textures.

How about a tiny animation freeze on impact?
You don't need any gadget for this. Simply fold the socks together (there's various tutorials on YouTube).
There's also a publishing/branding/marketing category called "New Adult" rather than YA. From what I've gathered it's aimed at 20-30 year olds. YA tropes with violence and intercourse.
I had the same experience: I really had to sit myself down a few times to work through some of the content. I think the worst part is that exploration is not worth it. Unless you have a quest for an area, don't even bother going there.
I sincerely regret bothering with the open world in "rebirth". A few pieces where worth it (the card game!!) but it's mostly detached filler. Some of it cringe. You can clearly feel the team topology. The main story is grandiose, though!
Reminds me a lot of motocross maniacs β€οΈ
I guess a guiding principle should be to have enough space between the points of access so that the player can not easily see the pattern. And maybe interweave the levels with the outside world: No clear boxing of the content.
This can be applied in varying levels of quality, though: Some of the content bits in Cyberpunk feel like boring small shoeboxes that just have different holes in them. Especially the many gang-occupied gyms/bars. Others feel interesting to explore and like a space for discovery and exploration.
I guess there's a few non-technical issues that prevent it: Costs, Copyright issues.
In the end, I think this is easier to solve via browser plug-ins and not on a per-app/per-platform level.
I'm still procrastinating to put them up, though π
I just created a calendar two weeks ago: I wanted one in portrait format rather than the usual landscape. Do I used Chat GPT to generate some JS that outputs LaTeX. I then put it into overleaf to generate PDFs. Finally, I used a print on demand service to get the calendars delivered to my door.
abstract image resembling Gerhard Richters series "Abstraktes Bild"
More from the same series...
I mostly try to create images inspired by abstract art. But sometimes I'm also in the mood for creating schlocky fantasy images.
Here, I had been reading up on Artemisia Gentileschi, her life and works, and this inspired me to apply some Chiaroscuro styling.

It seems the embedded player does not use the timestamp in the link: In this rendition, the passage starts at 14:20
Also: Theres a passage in the 8th symphony of Shostakovich that already contains the central elements of "One winged Angel". Uematsu himself cites "Rites of Spring" as a source. (I still think Uematsu created an amazing piece of music.)

Vagrant Story. It's still one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen.
Here's a series inspired by the rectangular patterns in some of Gerhard Richters "Abstraktes Bild". I mixed in aspects of burnt celluloid.
I went to Museum Barberini in Potsdam last weekend to see the Maurice de Vlaminck exhibition. I quite liked it! Especially the earlier works.
Afterwards I took a short tour through their collection of impressionist paintings. It's always a nice experience.

9/10 - With the one I falsely attributed to humans - the one about a poet - I was 50/50 on my choice: It felt coherent enough in it's theming and buildup (indicating human origin) but the resolution was not having the kind of punchline you'd expect for this style of poem (indicating AI)
