Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together. This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.

Yeah, he amended it after the pubic outcry. His Quixote mask fell off, and what we see now is an opportunistic lizard face, hungry for more power. Enough isn't in his vocabulary.

when will the Republicans rein in the rough beast?
A deep appreciation to Jane Ciabattari for nominating my story for a Pushcart Prize. Thank you, Chicago Quarterly Review, for publishing "The Passengers" in Volume 41!

SCOOP from me:
I uncovered that the Interior Department just quietly defunded *two* multimillion dollar research programs studying how whales move and behave near U.S. wind farms actively being built.
Trump blames wind turbines for whale deaths, then cuts vital research on the topic. π§΅
In Portland, Oregon, fascists forcibly removed and dragged a blind protester from the street.

At low enough pH levels, corals and shells can begin to dissolve. These effects could destabilize entire ecosystems and devastate many commercially valuable species, such as oysters.
Carbon dioxide concentrations reached a record global high of 422.7 parts per million (ppm) last year. Much of that carbon dioxide gets absorbed by the ocean, increasing its acidity, which can have profound impacts on marine ecosystems.
As of 2025, humans have pushed Earth past another planetary boundary: Levels of ocean acidification have exceeded a critical threshold, becoming the seventh out of nine boundaries crossed. Source: Scientific American (more in comments)
Thank you for reading it! I'm sorry you were that mother. I was trapped for about five minutes, but imagination is a wonderful thing.
