While we can speak for days on end of the value of this work, sometimes itβs best to let our clients speak to it themselves! Before, Ms. Fβs home was no real defense against the cold, especially in the recent snowy weeks, but with AHIPβs help she made it through safe and warm and remains soπ

Winter weather prep reminders! Use towels to plug up doorways and other portals! The cold can sap your homeβs heat quickly and discretely. To ward this off, you can fold up towels or other thick fabrics and place them under doorways to keep warm air in, and cold air out! Keep your cabinets open and your faucets dripping to prevent pipe freezes! A frozen pipe can lead to bursts from ice expanding inside. By keeping your cabinets open, the warm air in your home will be able to circulate around the piping inside! Leave your faucets dripping as well to further decrease freeze risks! Be ready for any losses of power! Make sure you have sufficient drinking water stockpiled to last for the expected duration of the storm, along with plenty of warm clothing & food that can be prepared without microwaves or ovens. If possible, connect with your neighbors or family members about a plan in the event of such outages. Community counts in times like these!
