🚨 #NEWS: Today, the @nysenate.bsky.social & NYS Assembly announced their commitment to improving Tier 6 in their budget overviews.
This is the DIRECT result of HARD WORK & dedication from @uft.org members + allies across NY. We will not stop until we #FixTier6! 💪
Negotiations are still happening at the state level, and we need to keep pushing the state legislature and the Governor to include reforms to Tier 6 in the final budget, but this is a win and a sign of progress!

Thanks to our advocacy, especially the fact that we showed up strong in Albany over the weekend, the State Senate and Assembly committed to fixing Tier 6 in their response to the Governor's budget.

Saw off @uft.org members yesterday as they headed to Albany to fight for fairer pensions and to finally Fix Tier 6.

When @uft.org President Michael Mulgrew began as a teacher, Tier 4 was considered a “bad tier.”
But teachers in previous tiers stood with him & other tier 4 members until it was fixed.
