one thing about the post-Soviet ideological hangover is it obscures that there is a tradition of liberalism-socialism compromise, namely Nordic social democracy, that has a better record than any other society

It was also just incredibly shortsighted because if your second or third thought in response to 10/7 wasn’t “oh my god they’re probably going to kill so many fucking people in response to this”, you’re either dumb or awful. I don’t have any special expertise on the conflict and I knew that!
