CONCLUSIONS
In our sample of 650,173 COVID cases among active-duty military personnel, a total of 278,278 were identified as having post-COVID-19 syndrome (42.8%). Of these, 273,405 reported post-COVID symptoms in at least two visits (42.1%). Our findings showed that the top three symptoms of post-COVID-19 syndrome in military personnel are related to pulmonary, neurological, and fatigue issues. Mild to moderate cases of this syndrome could leave military personnel with long-term deficits in their overall fitness and readiness. This readiness is a critical aspect of military effectiveness, ensuring that personnel can respond rapidly and decisively to threats. Thus, continued assessment and potential treatments are needed to assist active-duty military personnel to improve their overall health outcomes.
Oh look, the ๐บ๐ธ military concludes over 40% of COVID infections lead to Long COVID, among a population sample that is all adults, & on average in better physical condition & younger than the national/global population.

This same argument can be extended to excluding black characters, to excluding women characters from certain roles, to any form of bigotry you can imagine.
It is explicitly agreeing to reproduce the existing system of oppression and bragging about it in the newspaper

Transpose this 1970 campaign speech by antisemitic white supremacist Asa Carter into the voice of JD Vance or Elon Musk or Matt Walsh and tell me if you could tell the difference.

Iโm finally reading the great Dan Carterโs excellent, albeit deeply disturbing, 2023 biography of Asa Carter, and one thing that stands out (among many) is the centrality of antisemitism to Asa Carterโs hateful politics, and to his compatriots on the far right.

Not for nothing, when Musk bragged that he spent a weekend "feeding USAID into the wood chipper" it was just taking uppers and vibe coding about DEI. One of the true losers of our age.

One thing Bill Whitaker is gonna do on @60minutes.bsky.social is report the truth. Whoeverโs in charge.
Especially coming on the heels of Justice Thomasโ recent remarks about โincivility,โ this report on the uniquely vicious and menacing attacks on lower federal court judges is important.

And thatโs not just me taking sides. Mace is DEMONSTRABLY coming apart at the seams. She needs to be under care and possibly even an authoritative care overseen by an officer of the court or a Power of Attorney.

From The Guardian:
Experts have said the attacks by Israel and the US on Iran are illegal, as they were in violation of the ban on the use of force under the UN charter and international law.
Here is an extract from an opinion piece by Kenneth Roth, a Guardian US columnist and former executive director of Human Rights Watch who believes the attacks on Iran were an illegal act of aggression.
We shouldnโt beat around the bush: Donald Trumpโs and Benjamin Netanyahuโs military attack on Iran is an illegal act of aggression. There is no lawful justification for it. It is no different from Russian president Vladimir Putinโs invasion of Ukraine or Rwandan president Paul Kagameโs invasion of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The United Nations charter allows the use of military force in only two circumstances โ with authorization of the UN security council, or as self-defense from an actual or imminent armed attack. Neither was present.
In his video justification for the war, Trump spoke of Iranโs โimminent threatโ, but there is no evidence to support it. He recited a litany of past attacks that he attributed to Iran, but none of them is ongoing or imminent. At best Trump sought to prevent future harm โ Netanyahu used the term โpre-emptiveโ โ but prevention is no justification for war because it would open Pandoraโs box to countless armed conflicts.
It's an illegal, immoral war.

And if it was any other presidentโs adviser who said something like this about any other minority, itโd be the instant end of their presidency.

Add-backs happen when a federal deduction is not recognized by the state. So an older couple could deduct an extra $12,000 from their federally-taxable income for 2025, but would have to add that amount back to the income South Carolina would tax.
Republican lawmakers said their plans for income and property tax changes will bring more tax savings than conforming with the federal tax rules, by hundreds of millions of dollars. But the Big Beautiful Bill deductions would have particularly benefitted people who earn tips and overtime, while the new income tax plan for 2026 tilts the financial benefits to higher-income taxpayers.
Under the so-called "no tax on tips" federal deduction, a bartender, for example, could potentially reduce their federally-taxable income by $25,000. That deduction could also have reduced their South Carolina income tax bill by as much as $1,500. But now it won't.
South Carolina Republican lawmakers helping their wealthy friends, while screwing over the hardest working people as well as people over 65.
Please tell me why people continue to vote for these clowns.

I just want to live in a country where the leader canโt enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws.
You know, like a democracy.
