WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A striking feature of Trump and his team is: they somehow imagine a world in which they are the only actors, only ones with power, and whether it's Tehran or Minneapolis are surprised when it turns out others do. There are many kinds of power and many nations with power.
I don't think I've seen the Simpsons episode where Lisa got access to a time machine ;)

As someone who went on the Internet for the first time in the early 90βs, I fucking loved the Internet. It has given so many things in life, and afforded me so many incredible experiences.
And to see it, and technology in general where they are today is kinda soul crushing.
I like to keep myself updated on cutting-edge developments in Temu t-shirt technology
the stink of gender resentment coming off Silicon Valley has been obvious for a while. these men hate women because they hate being told no.
Hot take I know, but Jane Morris is prettier that Lizzie Siddal.
Come at me Rossetti simps!

Terry Pratchett in a blue jacket and Akubra hat holding a young owl for release.
Eleven years since you crossed the black sands. I wish I could say that the world is better than you left it (although it will always be better for having had you in it) but at least there is a new Young Sam to help carry on the Pratchett name and ethos. Love you always β€οΈ
Tweet by Thomas van Linge saying it is striking that historians may one day view the Iran war as less thought-out than the Iraq war.
That's what happens when you use a foreign war as a distraction from your problems back home.
can this be a solution?
I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad.
Thereβs not.
Happy John Aubrey Day β 400 years old today! The original stone botherer, who recognised the Avebury stones for the prehistoric marvel they are, and rightly commented that the site 'doth as much exceed Stonehenge as a cathedral doth a parish church'.
In the spirit of Gilead, I shall henceforth refer to the United States as... Ofisrael. Blessed be the rebranding. lisa88mph 22h May the files open 2/2

Flashback! I'm hosting a panel about psychedelics in SFs legendary Haight-Ashbury district. My friends Phriendz are putting on a digital Dead extravaganza - an explosive mind-melting performance packed with iconic jams reimagined live on stage

Tweet by Adam Kinzinger responding to a post about the U.S. using low-cost interceptors against Iranian drones, suggesting Ukraine provided the technology. The image shows Donald Trump speaking at a podium during a White House event.
My my, how itβs come full circle.
Dia: I'm watching a doc on one of Dad's faves - George Carlin. He was making it by societal standards (to some extent) but miserable bc he was mainstream, which is what he thought he needed to be. He took Isd and mescaline and realized he was a born outlaw and rebel. Meant to go against the current. So he started being the Carlin that we know now. And rather than ruin his career, he blew up bigger than shit and made fans like our father. It's inspiring. Sister: That is inspiring. Dia: Yeah. Get the best of yourself by being yourself.
A few of us weirdo writers were recently discussing how weβre devalued by the mainstream for all varieties of weirdness, but we really must remember that the world couldβve been deprived of George Carlin. Stay the course! Steady she goes!
In cases you were wondering . . . this is a photo that annoyed Pete Hegseth so much because he thought it was "unflattering" so he got the photographer barred. I encourage all of you to use it as often as possible.
An infographic on the timekeeping practises of the ZΓΉvΓ including a very natty illustration of a ZΓΉvΓ clock that took a couple of hours to make and it's quite clear that no one appreciates me so I'm going to go and crawl under a rock and DIE then you'll all be sorry!!!
That feeling when you put a whole load of work into a thing, present it to the world, and just get crickets π¦
Now admittedly it's an extremely niche thing and I posted it to the Worldbuilding subreddit when the majority of users were asleep, but it's still disheartening...
I just can't stop thinking about the sheer narcissism in this administration

Tweet by No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen referencing cuts to food assistance for hungry children, quoting a report claiming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth oversaw $93 billion in Pentagon spending in one month, including $2 million on Alaskan king crab. The image shows Hegseth speaking and a photo of king crab legs with sauce.
I was told the GOP cares about fraud, waste and abuse.
Hard to not go fucking insane in a world where they behave like fiction can hurt you while literally bombing schools. Hope all of these fascist fucks take a very long walk off of a very short pier.
"Obama will prosecute Bush."
"Biden will prosecute Trump."
"Democrats will prosecute Trump if they win the midterms."
"The Good Cop will protect me from the Bad Cop if I talk."
An abuser needs to control what you think is possible. We have to work outside the box the capitalists built around us.

A digital rendering of vintage Lego Pirates set 6265 Sabre Island (left) and a redesigned version. The set features a small island with a cannon and a tall tower, as well as a rowboat.
Another vintage Lego Pirates redesign! This time it's 1989's Sabre Island! I admit I went a little overboard (har har), but I'm so happy with the result! π΄ββ οΈ
