The Arator short having Vereesa telling him that she wasn’t born a warrior like her sisters were blows my mind. Has no one read Day of the Dragon and Night of the Dragon? Has no one read Vereesa written by her actual creator, Richard A. Knaak and seen how much of a warrior she is?!

You’re right. I finally found all the other that PG shared. Really like how they added this and it’s all from an in-game perspective anyway so it makes sense that it would be written this way. I hope we see more of this sort of thing in game going forward!

Changing the story to now be something like “Well there was a marketplace there and civilians, and the elves came in and killed them all” is a big change.

After that initial attack, the elves kept pressing forward trying to find a place where they could find a place to survive and found it at the site of ancient ruins.

It appears to be trying to reinforce the idea that the trolls were peaceful people just living their lives in harmony until the elves came and tried to conquer them unprovoked. Previously it was the case that the trolls attacked the elves first on sight when they first reached the forests.

I like all the new stuff about the Amani in Midnight, as they are my favorite trolls, but I’m started to worry that the writers are overcorrecting and falling into the Noble Savage stereotype for them now too.
