bones and all was definitely different as a book to the movie and had very very different meanings. i like the book so much better for marens character, but the movie was way more horror, and ofc more romance

finished bones and all and Wow. i’m so glad i read the book after watching the movie. the differences are so unique and… truly wild. i’m most familiar with book to movie adaptations with the hunger games franchise and those are very accurately the same story

about many different things. i doubt id ever read her travel guide to ireland, probably not veganism, maybe the egotism book? but either way.. its kinda cool to think about

stuff that doesn’t fit. i also think Camille DeAngelis is pretty cool for all the different genres of written things she’s written— veganism, a travel guide to ireland, self-help about creative egotism… i think it adds to this book. she was able to capture something so uniquely, she’s passionate

about it and it’s very interesting how it gets a bit twisted if you try to put any one specific metaphor into cannibalism for the book. each one doesn’t fully align, so it’s better to read it without trying to think further of it. or, think of it in a way that relates to you, and then ignore the

how guilty she feels for eating them after. she thinks of herself so monsterly for what she did. neither sully nor lee think of themselves in the same way she does. lee comments on it, that she likes eating too, and it makes her so mad. she can’t admit it to herself. there’s something complex

and i’m really enjoying the movie to book differences— i LOVE the implications that come with book maren’s victims. every time she eats it’s a boy who wants more from her, who doesn’t take her no for an answer, how she’s scared to say no etc… it’s very special to me

until i got to the bookstore and saw what section it was in. i think its quite awesome that luca guadagnino chose to adapt a female protag YA book into the movie that he did. or whoever advocated for it!!

ive been reading bones and all and its so refreshing having a book you can’t put down. there’s something about YA female protagonist books that are so special to me. i grew up reading male protagonist books (percy jackson for example) so it’s rly nice to read this. i also didn’t know it was YA

i think the movie and book personally are so great on different levels. i adore the book bc i was actually able to finish it and couldn’t put it down, versus when you hand me a movie i usually don’t have problems finishing it lol. i think that’s why im a bit biased !
