This headline should read "Trans immigrants are now being explicitly targeted by ICE." Really it should read that trans brown people are going to be targeted by ICE, because anyone darker-skinned than a saltine is now considered a "potential immigrant" and ICE tends not to check.
Headlines like this are massively disappointing. A consistent issue with "allyship" within the media is the fact that the harm of anti-trans legislation is always framed in how it might incidentally hurt non-trans people, sending the message that the problem's cis people getting caught in the blast.

Kamala Harris would not have, in any meaningful sense, *improved* the America that Trump had wanted to create. She would have merely been a few margins less evil, but she still would have been evil. ICE would still be kidnapping American citizens. Israel would still be warmongering with US weapons.

I get really annoyed when newer TTRPG players who found the hobby of roleplaying through Critical Role turn their nose up at the idea of highly mechanically complex systems as being inherently anti-storytelling. But that's so not true. Systems are, instead, opportunities for narrative expression.
Systems and rules add layers for you to be able to express a character in. A game with lots of rules is not trying to get you to stop roleplaying to focus on systems management, it's trying to get you to find ways to use these systems to further deepen the expression of your character.
In a TTRPG, mechanics create roleplay and roleplay is performed through mechanics. An RPG system with less mechanics and less rules is not intrinsically more "roleplay focused," the onus is just more on the players and the GM to perform well as roleplayers.
The human artistry that goes into making Warhammer just disappears into a sea of "brought to you by The Warhammer Design Team" like tears in rain.
Warhammer doesn't make the paints. Citadel does. So they're Citadel paints. The people who work at Citadel makes the paints. So they're Citadel paints. By stripping the name of the actual company that represents the people who make the paint, you're further alienating them from their own product.
So when are Games Workshop just going to officially rename themselves The Warhammer Company? All GW products just being called Warhammer ____ makes it all feel so sauceless, like no humans were actually involved in its creation. A strange thing for a company with such a strong anti-AI stance.

These are from Trench Crusade! And personally Trench Crusade is my favorite wargame right now. It's a skirmish game like Kill Team. Unlike Kill Team, it has much much better list building as well as significantly faster and more lethal gameplay. Models die faster, and often unexpectedly.

If I ever run a mono black deck it's gonna be in white card sleeves, in a white deck box, and I'll be dressed like a druid. If I ever run a green deck I'll dress like a priest and use a black deck box and card sleeves.

A James Gunn directed Green Lantern space adventure would be a slam dunk because they could market it as basically being Guardians of the Galaxy, Again. But nah for some reason Warner is convinced they gotta capture the Yellowstone audience, I guess?
Yeah cause when I think of Green Lantern the first thing that comes to mind is a cowboy crime drama set vaguely in Texas/New Mexico with a washed out color gray and brown color palette and with seemingly no use of colorful manifested constructs. Obviously. What else would come to mind?

The way Magic players will act like Warhammer is expensive meanwhile they're spending more on single decks then I've ever had to spend to get 2k points of any army I've tried to play. Are you kidding yourself? Magic is way more expensive then any wargame, especially if you play Standard Format.
Magic players be like "yeah man wargaming seems really interesting but it just feels like it costs so much. Anyway I'm gonna go back to playing Magic on the other side of the store, I gotta try out this green/red pauper deck I spent 200 dollars on!"
"Then I'm gonna play this 2-mana card that's a 3/5 with Reborn and a Deathrattle that gives it Reborn again. Then I'm gonna play this 4-mana minion that gets +1/+1 every time you attack a friendly minion. And then I use the mana coin-"
And I'm just sat there wondering how much he paid in packs.
But now I boot up Hearthstone after like seven years of not playing the game and I make a funny Druid Dragon Deck that's all about summoning dragons and putting +1/+1 counters on them, and then my enemy goes "mhm so anyway I play this 3-mana card that lets me summon three 4/5 minions with taunt."
playing Hearthstone in Year of Our Lord 2026 is a crash course in power creep because I remember when Hearthstone first came out and "I play a minion with 4/10 and taunt with a powerful deathrattle!" was considered top of the line of how powerful a card can get.

Yeah 8-3 has been the worst offender so far but I had similar, less extreme problems on 8-2.
