I think they all may cause some loss of muscle mass even accompanied by exercise. I would not say GLP-1s cause more loss of MM, but it needs to be recognised that there is a dangerous cycle of ending up much the same weight, but with lower MM.

I have experience of substantial weight loss from 130kg to 85kg (which is something like BMI 35->22). I think the issue with GLP-1 is that there is a danger of losing muscle mass (some of which is always lost with large weight loss), but not regaining it.

That paper misses the link to epigenetics via the citrate carrier. There have been some really good papers on mtDNA in recent years. The PINK1/Parkin route, however, is probably the safest to use to resolve this.
