I have one wfh stream that I check in on regularly and she has stuff setup for chat to add their tasks. I just look at it as a way to not be bored during mundane work shit lol. I could see how it would be weird if someone wasn't engaging though and just streaming their face with nothing else

Unfortunate that's been your experience. The few streams I've popped into have had library study group vibes, working on our own shit together. And the couple of times I've used it was to share what I was studying in case someone else might find it interesting. 🤷‍♀️
