On Friday, we also had the opportunity to present the COLaF project (colaf.huma-num.fr) together with Sam Bigeard and Rasul Dent. Our poster fostered nice discussions around speech technologies, creole linguistics, corpus building, and machine translation, to name a few.

This paper highlights the scarcity of studies on MT into non-standard language varieties and dialect continua. Our experiments indicate, among other findings, that existing models exhibit a bias toward the Languedocian variety among the six Occitan varieties considered in our study.
