Wait, a second. Did I hear that correctly?
Kevin Stefanski reportedly gave Michael Penix a head's up before the Falcons signed Tua Tagovailoa.
Maybe Stefanski learned from his mistakes in Cleveland. Good for him.
@brentsobleski
A gigantic dork, who just happens to serve as an NFL analyst for Bleacher Report and stewards the site's draft coverage/scouting department. What are the best things in life? Family, friends, football, comic books and good beer. It really is that simple.

Three edge prospects broke the 1.60 barrier with their 10-yard splits at this year's NFL combine.
1. Arvell Reese: 1.58
1. Cashius Howell: 1.58
3. Malachi Lawrence: 1.59
Interestingly, no O-linemen made it under the 1.70 mark, which indicates an elite time. Four defensive tackles did, though.
At least NDSU prospect Cole Payton can start looking for real estate in the Atlanta area, as the the Falcons corner the market on left-handed QBs.
It is a sport, much like other performative sports. Gymnastics and ice skating are both routine-based with subjective judging, but they're still considered great athletes. Same applies to pro wrestlers.
Falcons are hilarious.
- Sign Kirk Cousins to $180 million deal.
- Use subsequent 8th overall pick to draft Michael Penix.
- Less than 2 years later, let's sign Tua!
All because they didn't land Deshaun Watson.
BTW, Atlanta is now being led by the coach who got fired because of the Watson deal.
Pro wrestlers are some of the best athletes on this planet. It's unfortunate that some can't get beyond the predetermined outcomes or entertainment aspects to see it for what pro wrestling really is, because it's a fantastic sport.
Fair point. Franklin is the best investment for the immediacy considering what Walker is going to make.
I'm just trying to temper expectations based on what was seen with Franklin last year. It was ugly at times.
Franklin was bad last year, gents. There's a reason the Colts were trying to move him and may have outright released him had a trade not materialized.
Granted, he'll still be productive. But he turns 30 this summer and needs help schematically not to be exposed in coverage.
π¨MOCK DRAFT ALERTπ¨
The B/R Scouting Department had boots on the ground in Indianapolis. Here is our latest projection coming out of the 2026 NFL combine. The scene directly behind Fernando Mendoza has changed quite a bit. π

Coming off the week that was at the NFL combine, Colts general manager Chris Ballard is experiencing sensory overload.

Cornerback Jermod McCoy, who didn't play in 2025 due to a torn Achilles, plans to work out at Tennessee's pro day, not the NFL combine. That was always the plan, according to McCoy.
"You have your ups and downs, but you have to keep it even-keel through a long recovery."
Leaving for Indianapolis tomorrow. No clue how many combines this will be for me. But that's neither here nor there.
Let's highlight a few NFL prospects who everyone should watch very closely during the week, even though they're not necessarily top names:

The series may be divisive, but I adore Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Never been a Trekkie. Instead, Star Wars has always been a large part of my life. But this new show has me totally invested.
Love the way they incorporate modern TV storytelling with traditional Star Trek sensibilities/mythos.
Exactly. Remember it well. It's almost like every complaint about the product and what it's supposed to be--according to some--tends to be intentionally ignorant of the actual product.
"Where the best wrestle" is a company mantra. The mistake too many make (or intentionally ignore) is existing room for other types of acts. It's a variety show.
The standard is obvious, but it's only part of what AEW offers.
*won't
But, Derrik, Rueben has short arms.
Want you please think about the short arms?!!!
Fit is every bit as important as talent regarding a prospect's future NFL success (or failure).
Sam Darnold's rise to Super Bowl champion is a glaring example. The situation in which a top prospect is placed should be discussed more often.
Let's do just that:

Too many dont realize how few times MMA titles are successfully defended, except when it comes to rare, special athletes. Simulated combat should be presented similarly at times. Pro wrestling cant get into same storytelling ruts and grows stale.
Except Kaepernick was good enough to play in the league, and owners paid a hefty lump sum not to admit they colluded to keep him out of the league.
But you're absolutely right about Tebow.
Sooooo many told me they were done with the NFL. Welp.
There's something hilarious about introducing all of these NFL icons while playing "Good Riddance."
Listen very carefully: I...don't
...care...if...Rueben...Bain...has...short...arms.
Can't blame Jim Schwartz for resigning after being passed over for the Cleveland Browns' head coaching gig.
It's hard to envision a worse scenario for the hapless organization after what looks like another disastrous search.
Only one reason exists why this stuff keeps happening: Ownership.π
His schedule--which is what he prefers--and back luck with injuries certainly haven't helped. Let's not forget, he was AEW's first-dual champ.
Right now, he's in the best shape of his life and looks like a main eventer. I had hoped he would lead the DR when they turned on Mox--which didn't happen.
Tony Khan has never been good at striking while the iron is hot regarding talent organically getting over.
With that said, he HAS to put Brody King over and make him world champion.
It's best for AEW business because opportunities where a wrestler draws national interest don't come around often.
With the majority of the roster finally healthy for what feels like the first time in forever, AEW has an embarrassment of riches among its current main event scene.
Once Will Ospreay is cleared.... π±π₯π₯π₯
If Tony REALLY wants to draw attention and garner a national spotlight, he'd lean into all of this HARD and book Brody to win for a short title reign before getting back on track with MJF's preplanned story.
