I ask myself the same question and I live here. And also wonder what glue the establishment parties are sniffing to see these polls and not think maybe they should offer something that isn't simply more of the same

I see yours and my parents have a similar level of ability to communicate their plans
Labour joining the march to revolution but on the side of the oppressor class
Massive self-report on how they view their own kids, no doubt
My ID photos also suuuuuuck but they are simply not a good representation of how I look day to day, so ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Bin off the "clocky and kinda ugly" part and we got a deal ๐
Weirdly I've taken "better" photos since but this one sticks in my mind because it's one I *didn't* take, and yet hey look that's me(!)
I leaned into it. I radicalised my parents. And my maternal grandmother. And my gf's parents too.
Mind you this is a photo from 5 months ago so I'm not exactly helping my case eh
Picture of Cambria at a restaurant last autumn. She has her brunette hair clipped up behind her head, sunglasses on, and is wearing a maroon top with white banding while reading a menu sat at a table on a cobbled street.
Side profile reveal or smth, idk I just thought my profile picture was a bit old
I just finished chapter 16 and y'know stories about demon(s) killing god and angels being wrong tend to almost always be great, so cis people should shush
What the fuuuuuuck
Idk where I first found out about it actually, probably some random YouTube video ๐
One of the reasons I quit academia was seeing this playbook working over and over again, even in totally unrelated fields. The system has always been broken, but this is a version of broken we cannot fix from within the system like most academics believe.
This is how the sport bans were forced through as well, but that was also ignored (read; encouraged) by the people calling the shots too. Funny that.
All those men I'm *not* sleeping with yeah ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
I've raced multiple *bicycle criteriums* on courses that size. Yikes.
This is my first! I am not enjoying it
Plus, bonus: "are you known to be diabetic?"
Yes lol, it's been like 18 years of it thanks
Welp that's another doctor that's presumed me to be AFAB (and straight!?)
"I'm surprised this is your first one at your age, we all know men aren't always great with their hygiene down there."
Oversharing? Me?
Never.
Catch 22:
I need the Dr to call me back because I'm pretty sure I have a UTI.
vs
This is probably going to be the most uncomfortable conversation ever if they do actually call me.
(This goes for both the US and UK)
I'm not even *that* young and it still feels the same. Too many people so focused on being "sensible" that they not only consistently fail to make change or deal with bad actors in their ranks, they also completely miss how the political landscape has fundamentally changed over the last 5-10 years.
Trying to force a hand I suspect
I coached at a Go-Ride club in that period and 100% agree with that assessment. Despite all the big talk from head office it was very plainly a handful of people "on the ground" making the really impactful stuff happen and that's never changed
It's nice to know that at least some people held fast to their morals when those who I used to consider my community seemed to simply shrug and carry on... and it seems BC hasn't exactly been on an upward trajectory since!
Just wanted to say thank you for taking action, Roger. I raced, ran clubs, and helped organise the occasional event for 15 years until I was forced out by BC's ban - it felt like a handful of people spoke up for a short while and then just gave up when the ban wasn't retracted a few months later.
Yes and no. The Tory governments of the last 5+ years whipped up rhetoric and laid the groundwork (see: GIDS closure, packing EHRC etc with GCs, Truss directing sports federations to ban trans women), this Labour government just happen to be the ones turning that groundwork into wider action.
