We know from our UK Social Value Bank that being able to heat your home over the winter improves your wellbeing and is worth around £13.5K
So today on #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay, please stop and think about what you can do to make sure we don’t have to mark this every year in the future!
At HACT we are trying to help with this. We’ve helped 44,455 household living in social housing with £5.5m since 2020, and with support from the Energy Redress Scheme and Fusion21, we’ll distribute a further £3m next year. #FuelPoverty
But honestly folks, this isn’t something we should have to do!
Today, about 6 million households in the UK live in #FuelPoverty. These are people who every day are being forced to make the choice of either heating or eating.
Let that figure sink in - 6 million households!
