Dozens of flower pots containing lilies
As we roll into Valentineβs Day, and with Easter looming- itβs time for my annual PSA- these kill cats. Period, full stop. Lily pollen is insanely toxic and will destroy their kidneys in 18 hours. If you have cats- THROW LILIES AWAY. 1/
Resilience is great. We want resilience. But to me trauma recovery is not about getting more "resilient." We've had enough "just getting by" by the skin of our "resilient" teeth.
To me the goal of recovery is measurably, meaningfully, REALISTICALLY improved quality of life.
I'm sorry. That does sound hard.
I love her videos so much. In fact she may or may not be partially responsible for feeding my obsession.
ya wanna borrow my blending board?
You know... yup (in a literal way). π€
"we apologize for the inconvenience this causes you"... it's not inconvenience. It's erasure. It's abuse.
What a good lil mouser! My profile pic is Suki (more specifically, The Duke Suki of dookie scootchies, Miss Suki Murderpaws Sparklepants). I am her human and she is near or on me almost always. She likes to help with yarn and she is also an excellent mouser whenever one is stupid enough to come in.
I find it much more helpful to read a descriptive pain scale. Just googling "a helpful 1-10 pain scale with descriptions" brings up some good examples. Showing these to the hcp and clarifying can work for some people.
I also very much appreciate this. This is a hard conversation. I know firsthand how devastating public tics can be. I know a child can withdraw completely after having an incident like the BAFTA one and then to see all the harmful/ableist takes compounds it so much.
This is infuriating. Statistically autistics are way more likely to be victims of abuse.
nobody has ever seen anything like it.... and nobody ever will. π
this is why the whole βoh, suffering creates great artβ thing is bullshit
you know whatβs conducive to art? a roof over your head and food on the table
you know what isnβt? stressing out over where the fuck the rent money is going to come from
wow, noticing my thumb's hypermobility and feeling stupid for always being like "ah my thumb, why does my thumb hurt so much all the time?" maybe time to get some of those ring splints dipshit.
mini skein of beige/grey handspun yarn that happens to be wearing a tiny knitted Ice out hat in red handspun yarn.
Wooden drop spindle with a cop of spun yarn and some unspun grey Shetland fiber that needs to be spun.
#HandSpun some grey Shetland top. Looks more marled beigey than grey to me but very soft. yarn is nice and springy, skin soft, not too rustic and would make a great noob spin I think. This 2 ply mini skein is a cheeky lil fella. Drape? Not so much. Would cable nicely.
apparently we're getting aliens though. bringing out the big guns *finger distraction guns' pew pew sounds
Lottie Fitzgerald, 25, was diagnosed as autistic in 2023, but has since realised that she is even more autistic than anyone knew at the time, due to her expectation that people will say what they mean instead of saying something else entirely.
Autistic : you could just speak clearly instead of being dishonest or passive aggressive
Researchers : itβs a mystery what autistics are thinking
Autistic : just ask me directly
Researchers : so mysterious
"This shift to single-payer healthcare would provide the greatest relief to lower-income households. Furthermore, we estimate that ensuring healthcare access for all Americans would save over 68,000 lives and 1.73 million life-years every year."
"Even after accounting for the increased costs of coverage expansion, our data-driven base case includes $210 billion savings on hospital care, $111 billion on physician and clinical services, $224 billion on overhead, and $180 billion on prescription drugs".
Huh. "we predict that a single-payer healthcare system would require $3.034 trillion annually $458 billion less than current national healthcare expenditure.

yup, looks like a normal tattoo under second skin and the ink that leaches out with the plasma the first day or so looks just like that.
didn't Ted Bundy do that too except with less help?
There was this. It's wild reading through it now. www.rev.com/transcripts/...
Amazing! The other day after plying two alpaca singles together, I had one inch left of one single! As if all the planets had aligned and there was two moons in the sky. π
just figured out that I spun it z twist and plied s twist like i always do, but I should have done the opposite for flax. Hope I remember that for next time.
