A fair bit of #LucyLetby content out there across #Channel4 , #Netflix etc. But the best take yet comes in the form of a new podcast by @amandaknox.com which has started really promisingly. She seems to be asking all the right people the toughest questions.

Thank you to all of you who have encouraged me in my work over the last 10 years. And especially thank you for giving me the grace to a be a regular girl, trying things out, stretching my boundaries, reclaiming my joy, and turning lemons into limoncello.

Again, the same unsettling question: how easily a person can be transformed into a story the world thinks it already understands. If you've been following my work, hopefully you've picked up on these connective threads.

The film covers my return to Italy to confront the story that was told about me, by the media and by my prosecutor, and to finally take some agency in defining who I am beyond "not that."

The question at the heart of this song, who gets to define a personβs identity, is also a thread running through my recent work. It's central to my new documentary, Mouth of the Wolf. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Mka...

One answer is that Iβm a musical and philosophical person. A person who loves art for its own sake. It brings me joy to make music, and I think I've earned the right to some joy. I can't be a full time cautionary tale and symbol of injustice! So I hope this brings you joy, too.

It's also about the hollowness of having an identity formed around what you didnβt do. Who am I, beyond innocent? Beyond βnot what they say I amβ? Thatβs an existential question Iβve been grappling with since my exoneration.

Afterwards, music helped me process and make meaning of the absurd and traumatic events that took over my life. This music video is a meditation on memory, identity, and the surreal experience of being judged through other peopleβs stories about who you are.

In prison, the chaplain Don Saulo, who became my best friend, taught me to play piano in his office. I had to practice my fingering on a paper keyboard in my cell. That helped me stay sane and survive those four years.

Amanda Knox is making music? Isnβt that a bit of a left turn? Well, no actually. Long before Italy, I was in choir and musical theater, and I brought my guitar with me to Perugia. Music has always been an important part of my life.

The people who think Lucy Letby is guilty call her evil, the worst child killer in British history. The people who think she's innocent say this may be the greatest miscarriage of justice in British history.

Doubt examines a difficult and essential question: is this case truly as clear-cut as public consensus suggests? Or are there unresolved issues that merit deeper examination?

Headlines branded Letby a monster. Public anger was swift and fierce. The story seemed to resolve into certainty. But I know personally how fragile that kind of certainty can be.

When I saw how Letby was being cast as evil by the British press, I felt that uncomfortable shock of recognition. The trial, conviction, and unprecedented sentencing ignited a national firestorm.

I've not commented publicly on her case because I believe in doing rigorous research, examining all the evidence, and talking to experts, which I've been doing for the last two years.

I began seriously looking into the case of Lucy Letby in early 2024, and I was shocked to learn what evidence was used to convict her. In any case, the public narrative around her was loud and clear: Lucy Letby was a cold-blooded psychopath.
