It's so irresponsible toward both the authors and the audience to put these feelings-dumps out into the world as if they were finished products, in particular when abuse is involved.

This feels like part of a larger trend of publishers publishing memoirs that are really half-baked, where the author clearly doesn't have enough distance from the events to have the kind of insight that would make a good memoir, but is just dumping a mess of unprocessed emotions onto the page.
Oof, this is so sad.
Shame on Grand Central Publishing for exploiting someone who isn't ready to realize that she's in an abusive relationship.

I was reading one the other day from a lady who said she was yelling at her dog to stop doing something while on a call and the summary recorded it as her yelling at her boss and recommended "conflict deescalation" training π€ͺ
Bodycam is a horror movie about cops who shoot people and try to cover it up, and the villain is a demon summoned by the drug users who the cops shot. No pun intended, but what a misfire.
Also look, it's one thing to get your boyfriend to help you with a translation or have him answer a work email on a bad day, but I'm starting to hear reports that people are "dating" their boyfriends??? This can't end well
I know it's a silly jokey joke, but people REALLY need to stop anthropomorphizing their boyfriends. "My boyfriend told me" your boyfriend didn't "tell" you anything. "My boyfriend thinks..." your boyfriend can't actually think or feel; just output a convincing simulation of it based on probability π
it could be a poncho or a capelet!
Let him shop!
Iβm gonna say it, I think itβs fucking cowardly a director who keeps winning all the awards this year with a movie that uses imagery of immigrant detention and militarized police etc has yet to even mention whatβs going on in America in all his speeches. But I do see Ryan Coogler speak on Minnesota.
Sequence of events:

COVER-UP!
City: pay family $27M
You would think a horror movie called Bodycam, where the inciting incident is a police shooting, would have something to say about police violence. Indeed, you would think that. But you'd be wrong!
the personal views in question
"while we acknowledge our work and personal lives are separate, as public servants, we need to be careful about posting personal views about our Employer. Especially an issue as controversial as this one."

"To my astonishment, prosecutors had introduced my seven-year-old analysis of feminismβs relationship to horror cinema as 'evidence of ideologically driven intent' the previous day."

I would love to have a locking option here, because now that I know our union is screenshotting posts we make online and bullying us into taking them down if they're too critical . . . well!
Quote tweeted tweet New tweet: βFriends of Bear Cat Rescue @feeder... β’2h We are now forced to close intake and not help anymore cats until we find homes for the adoptable cats in our care. We literally have no more space and I'm having to say no to cats who will die without us. all these kittens are still here. Please share. SF Bay Areaβ Quoting older tweet: βFriends of Bear Cat Rescue β’ 3/1/26 SF BAY AREA it makes me very sad that we still have 8 perfect, healthy big kittens growing up mostly in an enclosure here at the rescue. They should be cuddling on someone's lap, zooming around, being happy babies. Soon they'll be a year old and still sitting here, waitingβ [pictures of adorable kittens]

Again, most people I know would just prefer to not be financially struggling under your right wing austerity policies. Itβs absurd that somehow thereβs not enough money to fund rural branches of Canada Post but we can fund the biggest expansion of the military in Canadian history. #Cdnpoli

and neither one of them can help the other despite the things they have in common, because their communication styles rub up against each other in the worst way. it's delicious!
Meanwhile Mel is used to being picked on/treated as a bother because of her neurodivergence so she compensates by being as sweet and helpful as possible. Now both of them are reaching the limits of their respective approaches and crashing out.
Santos thinks she's a pariah because of the Langdon thing, and I don't doubt there's been some coldness, but I also think she's quick to assume the worst and lashes out pre-emptively before anyone has a chance to hurt her.
