Thatcher govt sold Pinochet bomber planes, warships, Blowpipe &Seacat missiles, missile defence systems and comms equipt. It also approved for sale armoured cars, machine guns, revolvers, , gun turrets for armoured cars, machinery to manufacture small arms, ammunition and cluster bombs

The British government spent more than £1.1million on training 350 members of the Chilean armed forces in the UK between 1981 and 1984. A further 330 Chilean military personnel received training from the British armed forces in Chile in the same period.

A govt file relating to UK military support for the Pinochet regime 1983-84 during Thatcher years is closed -
and my Freedom of Information request has just been rejected

We already know a lot about this (see my thread below), so I wonder what else they have to hide?

When Pinochet was arrested in London - Chilean exiles protested wherever he went, bringing the world's attention to his human rights abuses
