All this craven ass-kissing in corporate media for someone who's perhaps the least popular and most divisive president in modern history.
Their coverage -- presenting Trump as an unstoppable force riding a huge mandate -- is just bizarre. Almost seems like they're trying to convince themselves.
Stunning cowardice by the AHA Council. For shame. "The Council considers the Resolution to Oppose Scholasticide in Gaza ... to contravene the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws because it lies outside the scope of the Association’s mission and purpose." 🗃️

I hope that the ceasefire deal truly means an end to the vicious, murderous bombardment of Palestine and I also know that there are not enough ceasefire deals to cover the dead.
The United States supplied the weapons and Israel used them.
Never forget.
Free Palestine!!!

The TSA has confiscated peanut butter from me, patted down my one-year old's diaper, scanned my son's hands for explosive residue, and generally wasted hours of my life.
Broke: Abolish ICE
Woke: abolish TSA
Last month former MLA executive council members sent a letter to the current EC expressing concern about the decision to block a Delegate Assembly vote on a pro-Palestine resolution.
Now another 13 former EC-ers have signed on. Read the full letter & list: utotherescue.blogspot.com/2024/12/mla-...

I spent most of my adult life watching schools say they can't expel professors for sexually assaulting and harassing students and colleagues only to see how quickly they react over social media posts against genocide
Please stop saying "rolled back diversity goals" and start saying "the company capitulated to a segregationist movement."

🥳Congratulations, Perry! A little miracle indeed. So thrilled this special book is out in the world!!
A world-historical failure
Eight years ago today, Aleppo fell to the Syrian regime. A little over 3 weeks ago, the city was liberated, including by fighters who had been expelled as children.
I spoke to a couple of them

If Mary and Joseph tried that shit today they’d need special permission to go from Nazareth to Bethlehem and then Herod would catch them at the Rafah crossing during the Flight Into Egypt
Colleges are not required to respond to protests with crackdowns the way that NYU, Yale and so many others have. This is a choice--and a terrible one.
I genuinely think we should start calling businesses and schools falling to the anti-DEI movement “segregationists” because they are re-segregating. And earlier rounds of segregationists *also* explained their preferred policy in race-neutral terms (“state’s rights” and “freedom of association”).
This is great work.
Another way to say these businesses are “erasing progress” is that they are re-segregating. The latter more pointedly gets at what’s at stake.
My colleagues in @nytguildtech.bsky.social donated what remains of their strike fund to the striking workers in Pittsburgh - a whopping $114K. That’s what solidarity is www.unionprogress.com/2024/12/19/s...
