Ah! The age old moment of “I’m back into streaming, so YouTube recommends a bunch of ‘how to grow and be big’ videos at me” without comprehending this a hobby for me. Not a side-hustle growth venture.
It’s just fun to do. Let me be a small streamer in peace.
I would still argue the idea of keeping the reduced level cap, but let them show up in roulettes for past expansions. Or have an “allow restricted jobs to join” in duty finder.
Blue mage is a lot of fun, but I really dislike the idea of needing to pre-form a party to run an instance.

Took the day to have some fun and recover from a tough emotional week. Did a stream, and so many folks came in. Was great! Will be chasing that high for a while.

I fully intend to get back to it once the thing I’m working on (the pin collecting game) is in solid shape. It’s pretty good right now, but needs a few features still.
But I do really want to get back to the backlog!
If anyone has been curious about my 2026 backlog progress. It’s momentarily stalled. I’ve been getting back to streaming and that usually coincides with a burst of developing stuff for viewers to interact with. So my attention has been there.
And for another new one, my kiddo loves mimicking the Owen Wilson wow meme. So I had to add randomized wows!
One of the things I’ve always loved working on for my streams is dumb stuff for my overlay that viewers can trigger.
One of my newer additions are Silksong fleas. And this week, redeeming the Flea reward has a random chance for Big Flea to appear.

Fun stream setup update!
Got a ceiling mounted curtain track and hung a green screen from it. So now I have much more coverage than my old Elgato standing screen, and it stores away nice and easy against the wall.
So far, I’m quite liking it. And I keep getting new ideas to adjust the system. Hopefully a fun way to get folks to engage with the stream. And it’s fun to build the pin sets.
You collect from sets of pins (just simple images and a sound). You start with one set, but unlock new ones by building your collection or finding other unlocking triggers with commands or channel rewards or various activities for participating in stream.
I’ve been waist deep in coding a fun feature for my stream. I’m calling it “stream pins.” It combines aspects of pin collecting, blind boxes, and an Easter Egg hunt.
I got the idea seeing the lurk bait game on other streams, but wanted something of my own.
To @tbskyen.com : thank you for the pure joy of having your Kuro reappearance rant video pop back into my feed while I setup and test a new audio interface. It has been a delight to have on repeat and listen to as I get it running.
Reminder: GenAI is just doing a best guess human impression based on what has existed. It could make something “new” that draws inspiration from something old.
But it doesn’t have creativity. It would never be able to come up with something whimsically wacky like Homestar Runner on its own.
This is one of this things that once I learned about, I could spot it every time. And knowing what I’ve learned of animation, it’s such a goddamn flex. Particularly from the analog days.

Game 8 (Loco Motive) is finished!
This has all the vibes of a classic LucasArts adventure game. It's a nostalgic romp for an old fart like me who grew up on them. If you like that style of game, it's a blast. But it doesn't do anything new.

I feel like one of the major reasons people fail at New Year's Resolutions is because the year starts with (in my opinion) one of the worst months. It's cold and grey and unpleasant.
If New Year's coincided with the start of Spring, I bet more people would do better.
