"I've never been tricked and fuck you if you were" is not a very helpful philosophy of engagement y'know?
Like, yes, their reasons for joining the cult in the first place are absolutely abhorrent, but they've demonstrated now some capacity for change and class (gender) solidarity, and that's not nothing. Tossing them aside as irredeemable will only calcify them. We have important opportunities here.
I understand the OP's frustration but I do wonder if we (the left, in the broadest possible sense) aren't making a mistake when we totally write these people off as idiots who shouldn't be allowed to participate in civil society
Folks
I believe I have found the Nicaraguan Jandek.
His name is Romel. His acoustic guitar is proudly out of tune. He talk-sings. And he has released over 25 albums in the past year. This is his latest album, Carita Bonita.
Will keep that in mind π

You are good at it and I hope the community appreciates the service you provide! I know I do!
You did the right thing. She was about to forge so many checks.

AFT Local 3535's statement about University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's merging of cultural centers is very good. Unfortunately I can't find it online anywhere and I'd prefer not to just screenshot a PDF from my email!

Did you also know that tenner also gets you three incredible settings to play in, including a beautiful wuxia setting by @bigprawn.bsky.social?
'A Lingering of Lilac' is a powderkeg of courtly drama, clan intrigue, and martial action.
Yeah I don't have the hustle in me (and I love my day job)
Good thread, also thereβs nothing that Rahm could ever do to get me to vote for him

Imagine a world where they don't make a headline of every single one of Quentin Tarantino's stupid thoughts
I saw a conversation recently where someone wished more designers talked about what a touchstone actually means means for a project, how it transforms into the work. This is a lovely look at exactly that!
Garmonbozia smells like burnt motor oil. Coincidence? I think not.
Now be careful. I think that might be a bridge too far...
Unfortunately no
I'm the latter but wish I was the former. Editing as I go means I don't get much done and can get discouraged bc rewriting the same paragraph sixteen times can cease to feel productive after a while.
Nah, I get that. It is very episodic, and even within that structure it was easy to pick up, do a few things, and put back down for a while, so I did find I could play it in kind of bite size chunks (at least until the last few chapters). I'll definitely be keen to hear your thoughts on it.
